Defense Glory Points in sPvP

while not affecting me personally because i couldn’t care less about glory i have team mates that refuse to play defensively against non-serious enemies because they will end the game with 50points while everyone else sits at 200
the whole glory gain system is moronic in tournaments as the whole group should obviously be rewarded equally
I agree one hundred percent!!
I think the defended points should add a buff or something of the sort like a a buff for your team if a the point have been defended for say more than 2 minutes…

Never thought of this, but there might be something to it.
IMO the losing team should receive 0 points. It’s ridiculous to reward a team that hasn’t won. The winning team however – maybe this guy is right. Everyone worked for that win and perhaps they should all be equally rewarded.
Should I leave the Mine undefended in order grab the Svanir kill?? You get what I mean.

Not rewarding people for playing through a match because they lost is ridiculous. What do you expect to happen if Anet did this? Sunshine and lollipops? More like more whiners on the forums.

Yes standing on the point should give you a point every say 5 secs or so.
Yes please. Not so much that everybody just goes sit on a keep (i can see those afkers in pugs go stand/die there on purpose then), but enough at least to not consistently rank lowest on the glory list when being the designated keepkeeper. Probably hard to balance though.
There are a lot of issues with the glory earning system right now. This is just one of them sadly.
i dont really support the idea of getting point while standing around afk….
i mean yeah it is definitly good if someone just camps the ruins in the capricorn map , cause its soooo easy to defend alone even against two or three enemies, but imho you should only get points for defending if u really defend it => stop enemies from capping your point.

This is the best idea, although I think equal points distribution should be for tournaments only.
Defending a point and calling for backup when you think you might lose it is an often used strategy. If the point you’re defending gets attacked frequently, you’ll end up with a decent amount of glory, if it isn’t, you can sometimes end up with less than 50, while other team members have 250+. Splitting the overall glory in tournaments between team members equally is the fairest way to deal with this problem.
I think if they just upped the bonus glory for winning the match that could offset the issue. I’m always back-capping points, and I nearly always have top Objective Neutralizer and Point Capture bonus glory because I spend most of the match running between the 2 outside nodes. No one is ever defending.
Given all that my team may win the match, but nearly everyone will have more glory than me, even on the losing team, because they spend so much time in the middle killing each other back and forth.
If the win bonus were like 100 or 150 glory then I think people would play these matches more like capture point games and less like deathmatch games.
