Delete/Replace Mesmer Moa Elite
It could be blocked or evaded, but is it so hard to count dodges or cool downs with a Mesmer? I’m a big fan of Time Warp tbh, Time Warp on downed players and then cleave or quickness stomps if favorable.
I understand why Moa is annoying though. Its pretty game changing actually once you know how to calculate.
1st scenario:
team work, they got more people. you are but one.
counter play? block the moa morph, or fear the mesmer when the mesmer is casting it.
nothing wrong here. everything is working as intended.
2nd scenario:
mesmer waited until you activated death shroud before morphing you.
well played. skillful execution.
also, they had more numbers, and teamwork.
again, nothing wrong here.
Well, the cast takes some time – enough to dodge it.
If you manage to do so the mesmer has the full cooldown and you’re still fine.
as she finished beating me up a mole times.
Let’s try something you’re actually good at.
sure i hate moa, but i hate MMs more.
and moa is the most reliable way to ruin a MMs day
^
Oh yeah… forgot the other cancerous things compared to Moa.
Yes, the skill needs to go. Its the most redicilous skill in this game and the animation is hard to read, because its a very generic one. If I manage to dodge it, its usually by mistake.
I made a thread on this before: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/pvp/Mesmer-Moa-skill
but sadly it was mostly ignored
I love moa even it reminds mm necros that their nothing more than just a joke.
Who cares if they had more numbers
1st scenario I could have contested the capture point at least 10 seconds if not longer removing 4 of their players from the other capture points long enough for the other capture points to be capped by my teammates.
2nd scenario I could have downed the mesmer and worked down their 3rd ally possibly turning the tide in a 2v3 situation. My deathshroud has 21998 max hp and I average at least 2k+ crits unless the target has a lot of toughness or is using protection buff. I also have 28k+ max hp on my necromancer along with the 21998 hp on my ds.
This is a thread about after the target has been morphed and how broken polymorph moa is. It has no counterplay once it has landed. It is not a stun that can be removed and it last longer then a daze. You also have no access to your skills during its duration. It literally turns a player into crap. Could you imagine if every profession had access to polymorph moa? I’d imagine its probably better then a majority of Elites for spvp use.
1st scenario, doesn’t matter. you were outnumbered, 4 to 1, mind you, and yes, polymorph moa is working fine as intended.
2nd scenario, from your description it seems like the mesmer saved his moa morph until you have activated your death shroud. i called skilled play.
polymorph moa is intended to have no counter play once it connects.
you have moa skills.
use them to escape and survive.
it is only 10 seconds anyway.
got put down instead?
well this is sPvP, you win some, you lose some.
dun expect to win all the time.
I can surely see how it frustrates people. But bear in mind also that:
- It’s only 10 seconds.
- It can (and is) blocked and evaded.
- It has a long 180 second cooldown that can’t be reduced.
- It takes the place of two very good alternatives: Mass Invis and Time Warp.
- You aren’t disabled while it is active. Practice the moa skills; the mesmer NPC in the PvP lobby loves to cast it.
the skill is doing what it is meant to do.
turn someone into a moa for 10 seconds.
how hard it is to accept that?
So, let me get this straight:
You’re upset because your Necromancer wasn’t able to 1v4 for about 10 seconds, or an EASY 2v3 because a player used a long cooldown elite skill that you could’ve dodged, or whose skills you could have used to escape the situation…
And you’re complaining that Moa is OP?
I’m not saying that Necromancer is overpowered at all, but you certainly seem to be making a case for it.
Also, he said Moa isn’t intended to have counterplay ONCE IT CONNECTS. That’s like saying “Life Blast has no counterplay once it connects, and is therefore broken! Nerf!”
/facepalm
Moa is counterplayed by the fact that even if a morphed target is instantly killed (and the tide of the fight is changed due the subtraction of that player) the player still will be again on play in matter of seconds, whereas the elite skill will be in a cooldown for 3 minutes.
The (usually high) chance of getting a secured kill against the absence of a elite skills along 3 minutes; seems fair to me. I don’t play Mesmers but as a Guardian I known that Necros are a hard counter to Guardians and I like to see that Necros have a hard counter in Moa Morph.
Could have a lesser cd…
