About balance team and so on, play some 20vs20 or 15v15 in OS and u will get the difference how fun it can be and what’s the meta problem (ofc not from first try)
U can forget about balancing warrior, guardian, elementalist
little fixes needed for theifs and necros, overall classes are good to play anywhere – they are usefull, but got small bugges.
mesmers need little more attention but still they got tones of good stuff for smallscale they just not that good for gvg already.
In the worst line are Egnineers and rangers. Some of their abilities are very strong (rare ones) some are just useless.Engis – forget about the turrets, let them be broken, focus on fixing other stuff that engis got, cause comparing to war that is let’s say – totally OK, engi suck alot with all that useless traits. And stop conentrating on spvp, BALANCING it’s not only about it, it’s not about spvp at all.
Rangers same, but can’t say more detalized, pretty unbalanced in some bleeding stacking on one hand and don’t have enough gtfo skills on another hand. Just listen to ranger thread.

The new “no capture point” map has piqued my interest I must admit.
the return of the ‘’5 vs 5 deathmatch’’ map would finaly spell a return to guild wars RA pvp roots and a well apreciated one for all those people who specialise into player slaying builds. Capture the zone is a fun game but a boring one to people who actualy join Spvp looking for a fight rather then an all out cap and run game, behing half controlled by bunkers its time to make a mode where fighters actualy gets to have a spotlight to.

Easiest way to check guys is go to options in gw2 and select “Server Time”. Server Time=PDT.

PvE players seems to don’t understand that the weekly WvW reset is not at the same time NA/EU. Obviously, we know when the pve daily reset is.

There were some interesting changes…but unless there’s another map in the works or another game mode coming, it’s really disappointing to hear that the only option for something other than Conquest of WvW will be something for custom arenas only and is just a pure deathmatch map.
The game modes and map design in GW1 was really masterful, but it seems like the multi-objective design has really gotten left behind.

Yes it’s the only map coming out now, but I got the impression this was a test case for more maps to come. Maybe after a few weeks of testing/tweaking they’ll put out some more.

I saw the livestream and the new map presentation and I have a question about the way deathmatchs are going to be ruled.
English is not my mothertongue, so maybe I missed the info while listening to the devs (they were speaking really fast during the map’s presentation ), and I’ll try to keep my question clear :P (and thoughtful, as if I was answering in collaborative development).
As they say there is no secondary mechanics in the map, I was wondering how the score will work ?
Because, in my opinion, it may be long and not completely funny for a loosing team to be crushed until the 500 points limit is reached.
Proposal : Thoughts about ways to make deathmatchs tactical and meaningful in terms of scoring and match ruling.
Goal : Making the matchs not only a long figt with many deaths and respawn rush. But making them something where players’ deaths are significant for the match result.
Details : Have the devs thought about some systems similar to GW1, for example maps with no rez points (/priest in the base) to dynamize fights.
There were some “core mechanics” in some GW1 maps, and maybe some of them could inspire devs to create some variety.
Risks : This kind of thing would limitate the duration of matches as there is no rez skill in the game (like in GW1).
But the “down mode” may be more important that way…Players would have to help “rezzing” each other in order to bring back fighters in the fight before it’s too late, and there would be some real team fight, spirit and coordination that way.
I’m quite curious to know how this map will work, what are the options that have been explored or will be explored (but as I know it would take time to answer, I have to say that having infos about how this specific map is more important at the moment than having a deep design discusion).
I think this map is a very good thing for the game and hope it will bring some nice fights (the construction of the area seems to be very good for that).

And btw, I’m not sure those are good ideas, just thought it could be interesting to have a small discussion about it so feel free to bring your suggestions

During the Ready-Up, they mentioned the new Mesmer GM, “Distruptors Sustainment – gain 1000 Healing Power when interrupting an enemy”. They then mentioned how that is a good opportunity to charge a Mantra to proc Restorative Mantras.

However, what they may not realize is the healing on Restorative Mantras scales absolutely horribly. +1000 healing power will increase the heal by about 200hp, tops.

- Disruptor’s Sustainment – Gain 1,000 healing power for 5s upon interrupting a foe.
Does this stack in intensity or duration (or at all)?
- Maim the Disillusioned – Enemies hit by shatter skills are inflicted with torment.
Is torment applied per illusion hit or per landed shattered skill? How much torment is applied?

LOL, maybe they think +230 to your heal is worth diving 30 into the tree? The balance devs are fairly out of touch with the way spvp currently is played and how certain mechanics work out.
Its ok though – this might be adjust in 6 months to 1 or 2 years out, be patient.

It will actually work decently with ether feast and regeneration from phantasms, but then only if it stacks duration. Other than that it’d be too unreliable for a GM trait. But yeah the fact the devs mentioned using this with restorative mantras has the optimist in me hoping (though I won’t hold my breath) that we’ll see a buff to healing power scaling of that trait.
The examples they use to demonstrate the potential of the new skills just explains a lot. Specifically that their internal group of players plays very differently than the majority of us. Or, since the forum users are such an insignificant minority, maybe we just all experience a very different game than everyone else.
