Deathmatch mode is terrible. I’ve seen a bunch of 500-0 zerg vs people slowly trickling out of bases matches.

Thank you for at least giving us the option though.

Well, considering people actually respawn, it’s not exactly a good rendition of TDM. TDM should be limited to 2v2 or 3v3 with no respawns, that’s how it’s supposed to work.

I would add death matches should have white flag option so that if one side loses say two out of three the third can concede the match.

Many games have deathmatch without holy trinity roles. The problem is just that this mode does not work on this map with more than say 5 players per side.

Of course it works without the trinity or dedicated healers, just look at the player hosted 2v2/3v3 tournaments in the past few months!

What we need is 2v2/3v3 with no respawns, that’s what many of us were hoping for when we asked for TDM.

well, i think because, errr, the gaming term, death match, usually means some kind of respawn is involved.

because, in guild wars 1, they dun call it death match, but, annihilation mode.

I personally think that it needs to be last man standing rather then zerg to 500

maybe something like counter strike?

wipe out the other team to score a win for the team,
8 wins out of 15 rounds (or the 15 minutes time is up) will end that game?

for example,
1. round 1 fight! 15 minutes map duration count down starts
2. blue team wipes red team!
3. blue 1 – 0 red
4. red team fights back, wipes blue team!
5. blue 1 – 0 red
6. yada yada blah blah blah crash boom ding fight fight fight
7. blue 7 – 3 red
8. blue team wipes red team!
9. blue 8 – 3 red
10. ding ding ding blue team is victorious!

yea something like that, some of the most fun I actually ever had in gw2 was doing 5v5 last man standing, did it for 8 hours one time against the same team and it felt great knowing how hardcore we had to setup as a team and the coordination from both teamst that was needed to secure a victory.

Yup.

We need a new mode, but deathmatch doesn’t work in a game without dedicated healers.

I seem to strongly recall that people playing Arena in WoW very much preferred to get a match-up without any healers.

. . . And our game is designed without healers, so it should give us a big edge in a game mode like that.
I really love the idea of a TDM game mode, but I expect nothing but a messy cluster**** out of the new, seemingly temporary one since you can continually respawn.

It should definitely be possible to make a match end after just a handfull of kills; What tension is there if not?

yes, it is possible, but a lot of time would be wasted on loading screens.
