Currently Diamond Skin is kinda useless. The thing that ruins DS is the requirement of being hit. When you receive lots of conditions, in order for DS to remove those conditions, you have to let yourself get hit. However as you get hit, the damage from the attacks + the conditions drops your health below 75%.

Once you drop below 75% HP, diamond skin is obviously useless. If you manage to bring your HP above 75% again, you still have to wait until you get hit for DS to actually do something. As you get hit however, you once again drop below 75%.

As many people on these forums have requested, Anet please remove the requirement to being hit on diamond skin. Just make it: remove 1 condi every second while above 75%.

ya when it was first announced i thought it was going to be 1 condi removed every second which is still a nerf compared to previous version as you can be condi bursted, I still take it though because I have to for the pathetic condi removal it does give, definitely needs a buff

Or keep the on hit proc but remove the 75% health requirement. Let’s face it though, it’s been a stupidly OP/UP trait from the start. OP versus condi users, UP versus everything else.

In it’s current form, DS is very weak against condi builds. Every single pvp amulet that provides condition damage also provides bonuses to attack damage. This means that anyone with a condi build will also do decent attack damage. Thus it is quite easy for any condi build to break the 75% HP requirement.

And yes you are right screvisiae, the other option is to remove the over 75% hp condition. One of the conditions (the on hit trigger or over 75%hp) has to be removed.

I think the on hit trigger is the better one to get rid of. It means that with a high damage build you’ll still be able to break diamond skin and punish the elementalist when he drops below 75%.

I like it the way it is now, it feels in line with the other GM traits, and fixes the issue of DS being broken OP in a 1v1 against a condi enemy but worthless in a team fight, since you are going to get hit in a team fight with all the aoe/cleaves flying everywhere.

Honestly I really don’t like DS the way it is now. It isn’t good for 1v1 or group. Condi amulets now have power and the on hit just doesn’t allow DS to be much help at all

2. remove the on hit requirement, fix it:
“remove 1 condition every 1 second if your health is above 75%.”

there, everyone is happy.

given how fast conditions are applied, i think the first option is okay.
if no health threshold requirement and 1 condition removed per 1 second is too powerful, perhaps maybe
“remove 1 condition every 3 seconds.”

I think the best thing is losing the “on hit” requirement, and just using remove 1 condi per second while above 75%. Being able to break diamond skin at 75% HP allows for counter play; The opponent has to burst the ele and the ele has to try prevent bursts.

That doesnt have to mean more condi cleanses in teamfights though. DS has a 1 sec cd. It just means you will drop below 75% faster in a teamfight if they focus you.

How would it help more in a teamfight now compared to a 1 on 1?
As far as I know, it can proc one condi every second maximum.

If 4 hits land at the exactly the same time (unlikely?) above 75% hp, do you cleanse 4 condis before your hp drops below 75% hp and before the 1 sec internal cd ticks?

While some people complain, others try to be productive. The original post suggested removing the on hit requirement for diamond skin. It is a good change to make.

You still have the Best condi clean Passive Trait Ever and you complain that is weak????

The previous DS made good tempest to be virtually immune to contidions, that’s why they nerfed it.

Actually is really strong in 1vs1 and work really good in team fight. 1 condi cleaned every second? Yeah… is a weak skill… all the other classes have better condi removal trait… who need to clean a condition every second?

Yes, the previous DS was way better why made you totally Immune to imparring conditions and condition damage!

Is like a warrior had a trait that while over 90%hp is totally immune to direct danage and CC. Woult it not be OP?

Actually the DS is really fine. Strong in 1vs1 and really good in team fights. Noting to change.
it has not to make you immortal if you find a condi class, guys, it’s a passive trait, not a invincible shield to kill all your condi enemies with!

I was also happy if they simply nerfed to make DS make you immune to damaging conditions (torment, burn, bleed…..) but still suceptible to the other conditions (fear, immobilize, cripple, weakness, vulnerability….).
But actually is even better than that nerf I was proposing. Really better!

From the 75% up every sec qhen a enemy hit you you remove a condition… wooooah, I want it!!!

Then, if you really dislike it, give it to me, please <3

I’m really bad with ele, still when was OP XD

But I see sometimes eles in spvp and they’re good. Inflict really good damage, survive really good and also give support.

The only reason why there’s few ele player is why they’re no more Op and all the players that play only the Op class of the moment had moved to scrapper and druid. (and I love to find bad Reapers that think that is easy to play a reaper, then die really really easy XD)

The ele is a good class, DS nerf don’t made it useless and is still a really strong grandmaster trait.

They can’t kill any condi class they face and that made a large amount of players leave that class why thinking it’s bad. But actually is still a good class, so much better than mesmer and warrior.
