With the over the top ridiculous amount of particle effects in the game, and watching your opponent cast an attack in any sort of AoE field being nigh impossibru, I would expect either 1) A particle slider, or 2) cast bars.

I saw a topic a couple or maybe a few months ago when I was still playing but I just up and quit for a while due to this games terrible pvp. When WoW is better even with its insane CC trains you know there’s a problem.

While we’re at it, has anything been done to the condition meta? I know they were waiting for that tournament to end and leaving us all to suffer before any changes would go through, so did they? Necro’s still unkillable gods etc?

Are rangers still impossibru to kill what with their perm regen prot OP pets and more evades than a kitten thief?

Thanks bro’s. I was considering re downloading the game I want to hear your honest answers, no rage. I’m assuming no new modes of course?

I wanna know how thieves are doing as well, is it still s/d spam 3 meta or has backstab made a comeback?

Edit: Anything about asura body size being scaled?

Back to WoW, make GW2 fun please.

there was a comment pre beta about how their design was trying to move away from the cast bar and instead have clear character animations.

but then they also said pvp would be balanced seperately, and that wed be AAA esport pvp, but then launched with no match making or spectating. so…. :/

90% sure in the most recent SOTG or somewher this past month in the forums one of the devs specifically said they were definitely looking into implementing it. That’s not to say that they said they WOULD implement it, but they’re at least considering it.

to my knowledge there’s been no mention of scaling asuras.

As for the meta I believe EU still has lots of S/D thieves from what I hear. Over in NA it’s actually extremely rare. I saw one for the first time in weeks today, but other than that they’re very scarce even though the build really hasn’t been nerfed for a few months (even though it was still very viable, and still is).

The meta is pretty awful right now. It’s basically bunkerwars and condiwars. Basically necroes applying every condition in the game faster than you can take them off and bunker warriors/guardians on every point. The “patch” to fix this (excuse me, shave down by 1 bleed) is expected to come out on Oct. 15th, but even the leaked patch notes had nothing interesting. I don’t even think they nerfed/shaved any of necro down according to the leaked patch notes. They buffed pretty much all bunker classes, making shout heals more viable for warrior and consecration more viable for guards etc. Nothing big is happening if the leaked notes are accurate.

They plan adding a minimum size to asuras.

Necros are still pretty good but warriors and thieves are both good counters to them. Rangers are also strong but not like they were before. They didn’t get nerfed too much, people just figured out how to counter them. Engineers have quite a few great builds being used, from the standard condi cleave to (relatively) new teamfight burst/control builds like Chaith’s.

Guardians of course still have a spot on most teams, and dps guards are also being used a bit (and are getting buffed next patch). Mesmers and eles are the only two professions not favored in top teams for the last few weeks, but are receiving some buffs next patch and have some advantages that are yet to be seen. For example, a lot of people feel mesmers are possibly a good counter to warriors, which are probably the strongest profession at the moment.

You’re likely to see 1 or 2 people per team running a condi spec, but I think the “condi meta” has been gone for several weeks now. More than 2 condition builds per team is pretty rare at this point.
