Or is it just me?
I’ve been playing Elementalist with 9x condi clears and I still find myself getting inundated with condis.
Is it just me or is there a considerably higher amount of viable condi builds out there post-patch?
Just pulling a number out of my butt here… but it seems like about 70% of all players are fielding condi builds.

Because engineers are Op. I put a nullfield down on point, no condies went away :/ feels badman.
Conditions are still around. They even got some buffs with some runes and double sigils on swap/crit…
ANet nerfed the only real counter.runes to condition spam…while adding many more condition spam options.
So basically the exact opposite of what this game needed.
The problem with conditions is just how abundant they are. They are everywhere, being applied constantly, by pets, by minions, by illusions, by auto-attacks by AoE fields. And not just single conditions. Lots of them, always, constantly.
They don’t have proper attack animations, they are impossible to avoid and even if you do, the next attack will simply apply them. You don’t outplay condition spam, you endure it and hope your class-mechanics are good enough to keep up. If not, you die.
Conditions are also damage and crowd-control tucked nicely into a single mechanic. What could possibly be wrong with that?

I could not have put this more eloquently. Thank you.
I think this thread is funny since the other top thread is asking for a nerf to hard condi-counters.
Yes, condi builds got buffed. Most of us saw this with the trait preview. Power builds are also stronger now with the new runes and double sigils.. in general, you just die a whole lot quicker in sPVP.
I don’t see what your complaining about? They need to invest so much into condition, precision and ferocity to dish out that damage, o wait nvm.
I’ll see myself out.
Anet needs to remove almost every condi that can bd applied via auto-attack. No one should mindlessly auto everything and apply tons of condis. Condis need to be shaved, at least in pvp and wvw.
KFC, I think its because of how they changed runes/sigils in large part. We were previously in a tanky/bunker meta – of which condi is the most reliable way to deal damage. The rune/sigil change gave some really nice stuff to power and spike builds, but over-buffed some condi runes/sigils. They made sure that air/fire sigils weren’t TOO strong together, but then buffed some of the strongest condi runes/sigils like crazy. Nightmare runes are silly on necros. It prevents spikes and automatically puts the necro in a position where they can fear chain/condi burst you to death. Geomancy sigils are absurd – 3 stacks of bleeds for 10s duration – why the buff?
It seems like Anet took some of the strongest stuff and made it way stronger, at the same time that they were working to bring some of the weaker stuff up to par.
I just hope that future balance patches come sooner than 6 months from now.
I feel condi in general is just a bad idea because its next to impossible to balance for since a large part of its power is dependant on the number of people running it. For example, if you have one person on the other team running condi, no one really complains about his conditions since for the most part you can keep up with condition clearing just fine. If everyone on the other team is fielding conditions, then you pretty much are screwed as you have no way to keep up with the condition clearing and end up feeling conditions are “overpowered”.

Engineers count as three people by itself.
Condi spam was bad before the patch. People on the forums told ANET this fact. So, in typical ANET fashion, they decided to increase condi spam.
It’s alright. By 2025, we should see a screenshot of someone talking to an ArenaNet employee in-game who casually mentioned how maybe they’re looking at reducing condition spam. We just have to wait. They’ve always come through, right?
I just think it’s weird to keep calling it a condition problem when it’s only engineers. Every other condition build is subpar in high-level play.
The metagame definitely moved toward power builds overall.
The increase of condi warriors, rangers, thieves and mesmers say otherwise

What exactly did they nerf? Because Runes of Water has a 25% change to remove condis when hit, Sigil of Purity has a 60% chance to remove condis on hit, Lyssa removes 5 conditions on elite use….. which runes of epic condi removal did they truly nerf to the ground?

If anything power for all class seem to have become bit more viable. That or AI damage has be buff because lots of MM necro, Spirit rangers, and Mesmer phants have been hurting alot more post patch.

condis are broken in spvp and wvw with power builds you have sacrifice toughness vitality to get the dmg to try and burst you enemy down. Condi builds can be full bunker yet deal 1k+ bleeds burns confusion etc. some of the condi classes have some of the best condi removal in the game as well still cant understand why that is
Engis are op but necros seem to be quite fine. They are supposed to be condi heavy class and that’s what they are, but they’re not super tanky at the same time like engis are.
sigils got buffed so condi specs can essentially have an extra sigil since they no longer need 2x agony sigils,
runes got buffed, such as balthazaar runes making burning last alot longer than previously and nightmare runes making fear last longer.
and yep, some slight condi buffs to classes, like warrior Impale applying its torment stacks much faster.
so yep, putrid condi meta?, lets buff it! – Anet logic.

Yep, I agree. I also think that conditions are just fine to a degree. Although I completely agree that they have next to no tells of their casting and are extremely difficult to avoid, I don’t feel that they’re exceptionally OP compared to power spec’s either. Basically if you have a problem with condition users kill them first you’re good to go… Condition builds become more dangerous the longer they’re alive, they’re not like a power spec where either you dodge or you die. They’re that person that if you let them slip out of your hands for long enough you’re going to melt at their feet. When people focus me down in PvP I can barely drop their health below 90%, if they neglect to attack me everyone starts to feel that pressure and goes “KILL THAT ONE NOW.”
