Competitive Warrior, Ele, Mesmer, Ranger, Engineer, Thief
(edited by OlrunTheBlade.1486)
For those of you that don’t know, Pugquest is a tournament that takes place weekly on Saturday at 4 PM ET. The main feature of the tournament is that it tries to cater to free agents. You can sign up alone and we’ll build a team for you from the other signed up participants. In the past the tournaments have been split about 50/50 between 5-man premades and free agent teams. This week we’re changing the rules to disallow premade teams and attempting to make it free agent only. If you were interested before but were discouraged by the possibility of going up against a premade, now is your chance! We’ll decide whether or not we keep the rules this way based on participation levels under the new rule, so sign up now! First place gets 2k gems per player, second place gets 800 gems per player, and every player who wins a single round earns a Mini Llama. Sign-ups can be found here

Says that link doesn’t exist…
Forum wasn’t directing to the link I’d typed in for some reason. I used different formatting and it should work now.
I’m an EU scrub and PUG Quest is an NA thing, but I still wanted to thank everyone involved in making it happen. This is exactly the kind of community-building event the scene needs more of. The game’s existing infra does not really help new team formation in any way at the moment, so any and all community-driven events that bring players together and potentially encourage them to form new teams is a great thing. So kudos to you all. Also, I think the change to not allow premades is a good one and in line with the spirit of what a PUG tournament should be. Keep it up!

We’re actually starting Pugquest in EU up in August. Follow the link and you should be able to find the page. It’s possible we’ll start them earlier than that, but for now August 8th is our first EU Pugquest.
Ironically the NA pugquest works better for me since I work all day Saturday, but I guess it’s fine for others.

+1
This IS exactly what the game needs. Thanks so much for organizing this! Unfortunately I’m tied up the next couple weeks on Saturday but I will definitely be signing up in the future!
@RWG
Feel free to participate in either or both events. If you participate in the NA event on an NA alt, though, the prizing has to go to that account, though. That’s the main drawback for EU players participating in the NA event.

Mah body is ready.
This was a whole lot of fun yesterday. I hope you had enough interest to keep the rules this way. I did it once before when premades were allowed and that was fun too, but it was nice knowing everyone was on the same footing.
Thanks for putting this event on!
Some feedback from the last tournament:
Please include a ‘role’ or ‘build’ column for sign-ups. I got landed in a team where I was the only one with any team support (as a d/d ele) and every fight that I wasn’t involved in was a disaster as a result of this.
It would be nice if you could make sure at least 2 support roles exist on each team, we had a guardian so it’s possible that this guardian was assumed to be bunker when he wasn’t.
Here to say thanks as well! I had a lot of fun!
All free agents is definitely a better way to go. After all, the event is named PUGquest.
I may do this in the future. Do people get annoyed at you if you bring crazy non meta builds?
