Disappointed with balance frequency

6 months bro! No balance until March or April! Get used to it because it’s always been this way and it’s here to stay! #slowpatch!
Wahoo! Bye frands!

With the rave about certain sustain builds (celes itself isn’t the culprit) Anet is likely to change something. I’m sure they don’t want two of the same classes over, say, a dps Guardian or Ranger.
The fixes are coming, but not this soon. I would expect a patch towards end of spring.

I wouldn’t mind the six month periods between patches if at some point the Devs would sit down and share some of what they’re working on in regards to balance with us quarterly. Maybe give approximate schedules for patches, etc.
I like Anet for the most part, but the secretiveness or ambiguous statements is frustrating over a long period of time. Other MMOs and games I have played have had rather open relations with the players, and the communities were less frustrated when they understood that Devs were working towards fixing or balancing certain things.
I dont’ get why its so hard to just lower all celestial stats by 20 points or something. It is so minor that I doubt it achieves anything, but it would be a remotely effective hotfix.
We used to get monthly balance changes ages ago but I think they kind of gave up since then. Now I expect the balance team are working on new traits/weapons/skills/classes for the rumored expansion.

They took a big step this year by having Devs answer our numerous questions regarding the recent pvp changes. As well as wanting feedback from the community. They even gave us dc amnesty because we asked for it. You can say this is expected and that every game does this, but not many free to play mmorpg, at this scale. I’ve even bought a couple things from the gem store out of respect… and because I look sexyfabulous.

The balance updates don’t have to be big, just some small adjustments.
I’m not silently accepting the current balance patch cycle, I’m doing what I can, and that is being vocal about it

I do not mind the long time between balance updates. It takes quite some time after an update for the meta to settle and for OP builds to become clear. Even given this, every 4 months would be more reasonable.
Don’t know what you guys are talking about? There was balance fix to one of THE most OP/exploitable abilities in the game.
Mesmer
Illusionary Leap: Removed the ability to use this skill in midair.
I now look forward to the next balance patch sometime after July.
Anet has always balanced the game very slowly, usually 6 months between major balance updates.

Yeah right. People knew within about 2 weeks of the last patch that d/d cele ele and cele rifle engi were OP. People have known for the last year that turret engi is OP in anything other than high end play.
The problem is that instead of incremental fixes to the fix issues, ANET waits 6 months, releases a ton of changes all at once, and then just breaks balance in a different way. It is a horrible balance methodology.
If they want to be like esports, they need to balance like esports.
