Q:
Disappointed with tPvP
this is the first mmo i have played without any type of deserter penalty, it sucks, and no there is nothing you can do about it.
yeah it can be annoying, but u have to pay attention to the group screen. if someone drops, the leader can resubmit to get a new player… however if you are not the leader, it might be worth it to drop and requeue yrself when this happens
You can still win sometimes with 4 but the second round you are basically dead.
And yeh there should be a penalty of some sort. I would say if people don’t actively participate in a tournament they register for (for whatever reason) then they are deducted glory points and they cant play another tournament for an hour or something.
5 vs 4 is way too common right now.

The problem with free tournaments is if you que solo your chances are very slim to even pass round 1 because team play is such a big deal in the game. Join an sPvP guild and play in a semi organized PuG.
Free tournaments were designed with premade teams of five in mind. The devs assumed that players who preferred to solo queue would just play hotjoin.
Hindsight is 20/20—we now know that hotjoin = zerg glory farm, not PvP. Unfortunately, it was difficult to see that coming pre-release. In beta weekends, for example, I played and enjoyed hotjoin. Now, it’s been weeks since I was in a hotjoin that actually felt like a team PvP game.
I’ll be interested to see what changes are made after this patch comes in—it sounds like they are taking some emergency measures to make casual PvP available. Honestly, though, things are going to be bad as long as hotjoin is the “standard” casual PvP mode.
