Disconnect = Still Lose a Pip
First gear doesn’t matter in spvp, I wish that guy knew it so you wouldn’t lose the game. And second the only way this can happens is if the dc er was in a pre made; otherwise this might be a bug.
Others of us have experienced this as well. I was in a game that ended up 3v5, so we let them just rush and finish the kitten thing, cause there wasn’t a chance in hell. Regardless we all still lost a pip. From my understanding if the match doesn’t last ‘x’ length of time after the dc, you get screwed.
There were multiple threads about this in this subforum and the bug-subforum:

seems like noone is caring about this.
They probably care, to a certain extent, Phantis.
However, based on the comments made in the AMA, regardless of whether they care or not, we won’t see any fixes for any of the issues until S3.
Well they have a Known-Issiu-Tracker: http://help.guildwars2.com/entries/98802888-Known-Issue-Tracker and this bug isnt listed.

Players have to be disconnected for two minutes before they get dishonor and the other players on the team get a forfeit instead of a defeat.

So…I understand giving the time limit, this way people can swap or whatever and get back in without being dinged.
I also understand that some people may be attempted to swap to get the win on another class and not get in before the game ends, in which case giving them dishonor doesn’t really make sense.
However, essentially standing around for 120s when you know there isn’t a snowflake’s chance in hell is just wasting everyone’s time. Is it possible to add some logic to check if the game ended before they returned, and if their team lost, to not deduct the pip? At which point, dishonor should probably also be applied, where as currently they get away scott free if the game ends before that 2 minute mark.
well i’m pretty sure that the player dced longer than 2 mins. In both my cases when it happened the DCed didnt even got back befor end of the match.
And even if he dces only 2 mins. In Tempel e.g. a 1 min dc at around 8:30 were both buffes come is a sure loss. Maybe implement it so that the dced only gets dishonor after more than 2 mins, but it counts as forfeit after 1 min for the rest of the team.

I haven’t had this be the case for me, even when a disconnect happens under those ‘requirements’.
Problem still exists.
