Discussion : How works auto-balance system ?
as long as you can choose your side yourself, it cant be balanced you can even choose a server… and it was like that all the time… only Play Now button puts you into server with players around your rank, at least it used to be like that
and in terms of autobalance, its turned off when 1 team reach 400 points or so

“as long as you can choose your side yourself, it cant be balanced”. It didn’t used to be like this!!!
“you can even choose a server”. Why does everyone have to switch servers to avoid/join grouping the meta guys?
and we all know rank level doesn’t make you good. its the combo of good players in the map at that time that makes it unfair to choose a side.
And by auto balance I was meaning how it was actually AUTO, balanced at first.

Back in the day when you joined a pvp match you didn’t choose a side, you started red or blue right away.
Hot join is no longer hot join, its Ransacker’s and Marauder’s + on 1 side and slaughtered bunny Rank 1’s on the other.
You know I am right, and you know its not balanced. It is in fact broken.
Pic related, they are the examples.

wrong
u could always choose the side u want play if teams where even. the same like now
but…it’s hotjoin…who care…it’s not competitive.

can some1 confirm or deny?

Because the game is more fun when you don’t know the outcome while playing it? That could bring out the “competitiveness” you speak of.

You are incorrect.

when u are in a team and hit “b” u notice the small <- and → on the right top? they where always there!
You are incorrect.
Meh that’s what it felt like, when I started this was not an issue, now its major.
well major for the ones like me who don’t do tournaments, and like to balance the losing team. . .

u try to fight against the purpose of “HOT” join.. so good luck!
but…it’s hotjoin…who care…it’s not competitive.
Although true, I feel it makes the initial PVP experience for noobs really frustrating.
What about glory/rank incentives—if your team outranks theirs by X percent, you gain X percent less glory? Or if your team is outranked by X percent, you gain X percent more glory? It would encourage experienced players to switch to the losing team instead of the winning team.
And yes, I did just say that if your team has double rank of the opposite team you would gain zero glory/rank. Nothing. It’s called “glory” for crying out loud. Implying doing something admirable/impressive.
but…it’s hotjoin…who care…it’s not competitive.

And this right here…comes back to the fact (DEVS IF YOU ARE OUT THERE???)
We need arenas for different ranks.
You would have to make like
r1-r10/15 arena
r15/20-r30 arena
and so on and on…
Or at least until rank 20/25. Then put people in with the masses.
But to just put people that are r1 out there to survive goes against their basic rule of making the PvP playable for everyone of all PvP skill. Kind of counter productive. IMO!!!
on start you could not choose your side – it was always random when new match started
when they released spectator mode and custom arenas they allowed to choose your side with this buttons
but…it’s hotjoin…who care…it’s not competitive.

This is a good idea, and it should apply to TPvP solo que as well.

Spectator mode!
If spectator mode is enabled on an arena, players can select which team they are on when the map begins.
before it was not possible and was always autobalance at start
Even though HotJoin is not taken seriously for many reasons, too often it feels completely random, zergy and imbalanced.
And while a little bit of these can be fun, you are drowning in it so much while playing HotJoin that the whole experience is often more frustrating than fun.
If this is supposed to act (to an extent) as an introduction to the game for people new to PvP, it is a very messy one.
HotJoin should mean “fun to take a break from competitive games – and you can hop in and out”, and not “imbalanced and frustrating PvP experience – of which you can take a break when playing soloQ or tPvP”.

Preach is brotha.
I would like to see one change to the auto balance. When a team is outnumbered, remove the RNG from deciding who moves to the other team. Always move the person with the lowest score.
