I realize this has been posted about before, but I still think it’s an issue.

I just got disconnected from a ranked match because my computer just black-screened out of the blue. I scrambled to get it working again and managed to rejoin the match, but of course, we lost by the time the absurdly-long double-load screen was done.

I understand the arguments that by DCing I’m screwing over my team, but my point is that I’m not maliciously doing anything. In a case like this, especially a first-time “offense”, I’m the victim of my computer screwing me over—why am I being punished further on top of losing the match and losing ranking?

I get that there has to be a repercussion for disconnecting as some people will ragequit or use it as a way to dodge a loss if they can, but there shouldn’t be a punishment if you come back right away, as that shows that you didn’t disconnect intentionally. I’m already being punished by having my machine screw me and having my ranking messed up. Can I at least not get put in a frigging time-out for things beyond me control?
