"Dishonorable" adjustment
The guys who intentionally leave dont really care about a few extra days tbh. Most arent focussed on pvp so they couldnt care less about punishment like that.
The guys who DC do tho. Guys that actually want to play. Since the community is small enough allready a pvp bann for 7 days would hurt the community as much as it hurts them.
I think a better solution would be to make the leaver lose rank etc, while the teammates dont.
The bigger problem: people can ’afk’ and pop back to the game to cast a few skills every minute or two - or keep the game window up to hurl abuse at their team/their opponents - and this doesn’t give them any black marks. Dishonourable isn’t an issue for them, and we don’t have sensible reporting options that cover such activity.
How exactly would the sPvP community suffer from sending “I don’t really care” leavers to an extended vacation?
As for DCs I really do feel sorry for them (especially since I have a friend which experiences that problem) but it still doesn’t change the fact that your team will suffer heavily because of you if you DC. My take on the problem is that if you experience frequent DCs the only fair solution to you and all the other players would be to avoid ranked matches until the problems are resolved.
And yes AFK is also a major problem for sPvP which is imho heavily tied to sPvP dailies (which in my opinion should be completely removed from sPvP or changed so that people can’t abuse them).

In the end, they can not force people to stay and play.
Increasing the penalty f.e. is an option, but I’m not sure how much that would help.
My personal suggestion a long time ago was to keep track of the personal leavings, and increase the penalty further for re-offenders.
I hope at least we get a ready check prior the match start with the feature patch, to reduce the amount of afks / non-joiners.

I think that would be fair for the team with less people, or making the team with less people get points 1/5 faster if they are on a 4v5 and a 2/5 if on a 3v5

That could be exploited very easily… if you’re losing, but have two control points… one teammate simply leaves for a given period to catch up. No thanks.

Honestly… AFKers and Flamers that just spew nonsense in the base instead of participating will most likely never be dealt with.
If you implement something like the “leecher” system of GW1… it will be exploited.
If you implement something such as a function that grants players that stay within the base for X amount of time dishonorability… they’ll simply run around doing nothing.
Any other concept I can contrive either puts the team at a disadvantage or in otherwise ineffective.
I suppose players simply need to cut off the food supply to the trolls.
