For those of you that don’t know, it’s when you leave a PvP game three times in one day.

After the recent updates to the game I’ve experienced a lot of crashes (blue screens that force restarts), more than usual. I submitted a ticket to Anet to see what they could do for me and they suggested a few things that I readily tried, but to no avail. The crashes continued. My computer specs are relatively good (GTX 550 Ti card, 8 GB, i5 etc).

During this process of trying to understand what was happening I changed many things (graphics and sound settings, windowed mode etc) and on a few occasions I thought it was fixed which prompted me to join a PvP game, only to have the game crash my computer bang in the middle of the match.

As I DIDN’T KNOW (they give you no heads up) about the existence of the debuff, I would desperately attempt to join the game again but GW2 – for reasons I do not understand – takes forever to load again and if you do manage to get in early it usually crashes again.

Long story short, yesterday this happened 3 times during the day and much to my surprise I found myself with a 72 hour ban from PvP. Yes that’s right SEVENTY FRIKKIN TWO HOURS.

I’m being punished for THREE DAYS for something that is completely not my fault. This is entirely on Anet, it’s their developers that can’t stabilize the game and the poor gamer that’s still soldiering on through all the bugs gets slapped on the face.

It doesn’t make any sense that such an unstable game can have such a severe punishment for leaving games?!

They refuse to reduce the time on the ban and unfortunately I think this is the FINAL NAIL IN THE COFFIN for me. A game with so much potential but thrown to waste by a few bad developers and decision makers.

I suggest they make this punishment A LOT milder because not everyone is leaving games on purpose.

I play about 15-20 games a day, and I can’t say that your issue is a consistent problem amongst the playerbase. I’m not seeing people constantly DC. For that reason, it’s most likely an issue on your end. Also, keep in m.ind that you’re ruining the experience for 9 other players when this happens. If you can’t maintain a stable connection, stick to hotjoin

There is someone out there that for 3 times has lost a game because someone with connection issues had the good idea to keep playing instead of wait to solve the problem. Gz GG wp.

if you are getting bluescreens then you need to sort that out and stop even wasting time complaining about, and instead fix it, because it could be doing some serious actual damage to your PC.

My guess is that you have some memory issues or some issues with power supply.

never had this issue. My suggestion to you; send a ticket to support and ask them to lift the ban. In the meantime, go play some WvW. If you enter the borderlands you can sit on a node and kill people.

On a more serious note, WvW does give you invaluable 1vX practice in a setting that is arguably harder then sPvP (more places to ambush, more damage but not much better tanking abilities not to mention, more cheese)

If you have computer issues, do not ruin four other people’s fun by playing PvP where your team depends on you.

Fix your computer first. That’s the adult, responsible thing to do.

for me it’s like this:

Play soloqueues, get skyhammer 3 times (I leave in skyhammer or go afk) dishonorable

—> switch to second accont same procedure.

I can always play without skyham and I’m happy

Caderyn,

Did you know that if your dog bites someone, it’s still your fault by law, since you are required to not let your dog hurt people.

If your car rolls down a hill because the parking brake is bad and hurts someone, you are at fault for not keeping your car repaired and safe.

I could go on talking about the adult world and how responsibility works, but I hope you now get the idea.

@OP:

72 hours isn’t long enough. It doesn’t matter whether someone rage quits, get a DC, or their computer blows up. The end result is that it hurts the team. 3 DC in one day is A LOT
