done by now.”
The introduction of dungeon reward tracks was to retain a functionality that PvP originally had. In the original incarnation of PvP rewards, you would obtain these skins in the same way as you would obtain any other skins. They did not want to remove that ability, so they added the reward tracks when they made the transition. This has no bearing on current or future development.
And yet, it continues to be a way to earn “PvE” rewards though PvP activities. Fact, stop quibbling on this one.
I am not sure how many people have the impression that PvP wings should be ‘prestige’ rewards for high skill level, as legendaries rarely have that quality; they are obtainable purely through time investment, with a relatively minor amount of actual ability.
Then why do people keep whining “Nooooo! You cannot have these wings through PvE, they are for US only!”
Firstly, the HoT tracks, other than Magus Falls, do not provide particularly strong access to any sets. You’ll get one weapon from the Auric and Chak families, one piece of armor (gloves only), and then you only get components- VB, AB and TD can only be completed once. You still need to go and complete PvE content to be able to use those components you obtain from the Magus Falls track.
Secondly, the legendary wings can only fairly be presumed to be prestige items. It is only fair to compare them to prestige items from HoT and Maguuma; chiefly, Machined Weapons and Luminescent Armor. It is completely impossible to obtain Machined Weapons and Luminescent Armor without participating in PvE content in those areas.
But you do get access to some of them, and again, if you’d prefer more access, ask for it, but don’t use it as an excuse to deny people what they want.

Stop misrepresenting facts to try to get what you want.
This is why nobody likes you. You’re always lying.

Because as usual you’re misrepresenting the argument. They’re not saying you have to be good at PvP to get the wings. They’re saying you have to do PvP to get the wings.
But you do get access to some of them, and again, if you’d prefer more access, ask for it, but don’t use it as an excuse to deny people what they want.
Dude I have no power to grant or deny anything you want. You’re just misrepresenting the facts.
I don’t want to get those rewards through PvP because I think rewards of that caliber are better when they’re mode exclusive.

But who cares? What value is there in an item that denotes “this person has done some PvP?” Why would anyone feel that “you can’t have that” if you haven’t done that, if the activities requires are not particularly challenging or prestigious. While I don’t agree with it, I can at least understand the interest in an item that says “anyone who has this thing has accomplished something truly special,” but I can’t for the life of me fathom the idea of being territorial about an item that just says “this person really grinded out some casual content for a few months, anyone could have done it, but this person did.”

You do. Otherwise you wouldn’t be constantly complaining about it on the forums.
I told you the value of items being mode exclusive last season. Go re-read if you have to.
It’s transparent as hell that you’re only arguing from self-interest. Man up and either do your PvP matches or accept that the wings are not for you.

No, I couldn’t care in the least. I want the item itself, for how it looks, I don’t care at all where it comes from or what it “stands for.” Other people have expressed that this does matter to them though, and I’m trying to understand why. Why would they attribute some great value to an item being tied to specific content, if acquiring it really doesn’t require any merit-worthy skill? If anyone can do it, then why not let anyone do it through methods that they enjoy?
I think people have already explained why the wings are exclusive to PvP well enough. Because it’s a reward for PvPing. It can’t be explained simpler than that.
Can you imagine someone entering a Tennis tournament, like Wimbledon for example, and saying “I want that gold trophy and the cash reward, but I shouldn’t have to play Tennis in order to get it.”?

Have you ever encountered the term “tautology?”
Can you imagine someone entering a Tennis tournament, like Wimbledon for example, and saying “I want that gold trophy and the cash reward, but I shouldn’t have to play Tennis in order to get it.”?
And you can do. You just need to just make the money through some other job (pretty much any job out there, depending on how much time you put into it), and buy the trophy off someone who plays tennis and won one, or you commission an artisan to craft one for you. There are plenty of people in this world who own sports trophies for games at which they are by no means talented.
Again, nobody’s asking for a method of acquiring it that would be easier than the existing one, just a method that would involve different gameplay experiences, outside of PvP.
I honestly don’t know whether you’re just trolling, or if you really do feel entitled to the PvP reward.

Just my two cents, thanks Anet for putting that League profession achievement in ascension. People playing classes they never played just for that achievement in diamond/ruby are truly fabulous and and bring up an image of flowers field, grown up on a graveyard.
kittening seriously. Some people reached other tier of Year of Ascension by the time they are ruby/diamond already and play classes they can’t on a competitive level. Whos kittening idea was to add that achievement to the category.
