Do You Swap Characters.....?
I switch between power and condi necro depending on the map. But that’s about it

I always swap in ranked if we are two mesmers or two thieves (my two main professions atm). I always keep a cele engi ready for the case I have one thief and one mesmer already on my team. I keep a soldier hammer warrior for those Courtyard matches.
I usually don’t swap in unranked (except for Courtyard), because it’s a more laid back environment. In unranked, when for example we have three thieves, I actually encourage the two remaining players to swap to thief as well, for the lulz.
I am also more likely to swap on certain maps. On Foefire for example, if you have no cele build, you can’t counter a lord rush, so you are likely to lose if you don’t dominate the entire game.
in unranked? no. I play the class I enjoy playing the most, and if that causes us to lose, oh well, I had fun while losing.
In ranked? I probably would if I was actually decent at any class other than ranger and maybe d/d ele, but I rarely if ever play ranked, and even more rarely play without a team to begin with
yes. i even swap midgame if the situation calls for it.
most of the time it’s me foolishly thinking i can have fun playing rabid 2 kit, but then i find out our whole team is zerker and have to swap to valk shout warrior to carry their kitten at mid. wish more people queued up not running zerk.
currently a Boyfriend main :P

I don’t swap, but I do avoid running builds that would be a death sentenced if stacked. So pretty much all burst builds.
well when you play certain classes like celestial rifle engineer and celestial ele there is less need to swap cos they are quite versatile. I am saying these are actually good builds~the balance should encourage more builds like these~better than zerkers and spammers etc etc.~I am ready to be flamed ^V^

This sounds like a person I was teamed up against earlier. In soloQ comp really isn’t that important in my experience. If there’s another of my class or 3 of my class I really don’t care. If you play a better strategy like not sitting on home all match you can still win.

There are people that queue solo ranked who are like me and swap to improve our chances of winning. I specifically mentioned swapping out of multiple thieves/mesmers/necros/rangers.
I’m thankful when my teammates swap because the act itself is an indication they care and are team oriented. We end up having a greater likelihood of winning
I dont know what classes you play but a lot of people are just like you. And if you think comp isn’t important in ranked, I won’t argue and just let you linger in your ignorance.

If by important you mean makes a difference then sure. If by important you mean necessary then you’re just flat out wrong. Player skill makes a much bigger difference and in soloQ it’s often a mismatch.
I play basically every class but ranger and warrior. I’m good with some, average with others. If I join a game as a certain class it’s often for a reason whether it’s a daily or to practice in a real match. I’m not joining unranked because I like the maps in ranked much better. Ultimately I play for fun so if you can’t handle that you’re playing for the wrong reason.
Many times if we have a bunch of one profession I’ll switch to that profession for the giggles. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I take it as a challenge.

Never. But I run a team oriented spec which can handle pretty much everything from roaming, support in both damage/cc and defense, decap and holding to some extent. I just can’t burst. I do fine in most 1v1 situations when I don’t screw up, but i’m much more efficient in team fights if i’m not under focused fire.
Though sometimes in soloq i get teamed up with comps like 2 thieves and 2 mesmers and none swaps, and we still manage. I think it’s more important to have everyone mastering its class and knowing how to deal with others than having an “ideal” comp with average – or less – skill.
I never ask anyone to swap, as long as people are having fun playing what they want to play, and gentle to eachother, it can’t be a bad game.

I try to swap when we play courtyard. But most of the time I’ll stick to thief. Even though I think it’s quite strange to see: I always see Thieves and Mesmers swapping out, and never Ele’s or Engineers or something. I think it’s because even if you had 5 Engi’s. They still have a high chance of winning. But maybe I am wrong about this. They just seem hard to kill, deal decent damage and conditions.

I had a 4v5, I was on the 4 side, we were all Engineers. Back when turrets were still around. We still stomped the other side. It was great.
I swap between medi Guard, burn Guard or power Necro usually.
Depends on whether the enemy team comp mainly. Burn Guard is hilarious against thieves, you literally make them kill themselves by the time they realise what you’re up to.
