Do something with afk people
yeah they should just make it so that if one player in your team is not doing anything for atleast 1/3 of the match just make it impossible to lose pips, for the people playing. and just make the afk person lose pips, that way it wouldn’t punish the players still playing but only the afk one.
If they removed all the afks and bots the population would sink so low that the matchmaker would just kill itself out of frustration.
lost 6 pips in 3 matches today because someones afk’d all game.
At least gives us a proper report function for it which then tracks the reported players behavior for the remainder of the match and gives appropriate dishonour/additional pip loss.
There should be no reason to afk in ranked.
Afkers should lose all up to 15 pips for causing the team to lose.

How should people loose pips if afk-ing, when they just simply have 0 pips?
In season 2 in ruby or diamond tier, with 0 pips, somebody afk-ing to lower their MMR?! What then? It will happen….
What about if I want to quit in the middle of the game, then I quit, it’s my choice, I don’t care about others pips, they don’t care neither when they do whatever they want on ranked games, and we loose because of them… When I see my team is not worth my efforts, I quit, I don’t care, now why should I be banned for that? They should be banned to, because they are not so good players?!

I can live with pip loss due to bad players, no ones infallible, but I can’t abide people that don’t even try, going so far as afking in a ranked match. Especially when the scoreline also has something to do with how many pips you lose.
For example, lost a game today 500-380, but didn’t lose a pip. Everyone tried and fought till the end. Turned out the other team had 3 legendarys.

Easy fix, make losing divisions possible aswell, the whole system is flawed as long as people can lose an infinite amount of matches without losing progress because of it.

I know it would take an impact to the pvp playerbase. But I think Anet should also consider the fact that no one is ever going to take a league system that’s as flawed as theirs seriously.
Losing divisions in ranked wouldn’t destroy the playerbase. It would be the one and only reasonable and healthy thing to do. It would mean less afking, less exploiting, more competition and could finally fulfill the purpose of an actual league system. It’s pretty much the exact same problem with wvw after automating all upgrades . Instead of rewarding competitive, tactical, strategic, sneaky or whatever playstyle it’s all trimmed down to flying on autopilot in zombie mode with the only goal to keep you longer in the game by holding some not so unique item, title or whatever in front of your face. People afking to get weaker foes in their next match up are not looking for competition. And people who are happy if their wvw ranking goes down tiers aren’t looking for competition as well. If people want their shiny finishers, titles, gold, loot bags and all that other crap to show off they should at least meet some competition in the so called competitive mode and not by rank farming, exploiting and ruining games for other people.
It’s funny because the wintersday activities had a afk system to kick people. even it you set to autorun in a corner.
people at base have a 10 respond time. not including thier respawn time to get out of base. the respond time is automatically set so low cause in a pvp match each second counts really. This counts for the maps, forest of niflhell, temple of the silent storm. it’s litterally walking a few steps and u are out of base.
battle of kyhlo should have it’s time extended to 15 seconds.
and legacy of the foefire to 25 seconds.
if the above conditions aren’’t met the first time. U lose a single pip. for every 10,15 or 25 seconds u afk in base u lose a single added pip.
Legacy of the foefire is a bit tricky since u have to also protect lord. if it happens that your base is bieng attacked. or an enemy player is in your base or attacking your lord. the timer stops. and resets itself. till the player leaves the base and is out of atleast an 300 unit radius starting from the gate.
