Spvp is currently incredibly boring, and being forced to play unranked for under a month is just… Zzzzz.. Do we really need these gaps between leagues? Discuss.
Currently, the only purpose ranked serves is for leagues since the leader boards no longer exist. So there’s no point in leaving it open if there are no leagues active. I suppose you are complaining because you don’t want skyhammer and the stupid place with the orb in rotation?
I will complain too. Playing any kind of spvp solo was always a pain in the kitten , but there were hits and misses. Now being forced to play unranked with all the first timers around is just DRIVING ME CRAZY EVERY SINGLE GAME! Just give us the separation from the newbies back and let us lose some time in this game. I see absolutely no reason to have gaps between the seasons.
Thats what i’ve been thinking. Pretty boring to play with no leaderboard and no stats. Even though i win almost every match in unranked now, I still find it boring if the stats aren’t even recorded anywhere so I haven’t been playing much.

Unranked uses MMR just like ranked does as far as I know. I don’t think your MMR is shared between the two modes, but I personally play with mostly the same people in unranked as I was playing with during the ranked season.

All the games in unranked half the people run randomly exploring the map wondering what they have to do. Point decapped but they fight vigorously just outside of it with someone unimportant… Stuff that usually don’t happen in ranked. The difference is HUGE. Either I play with 4 newbies or they do, it’s been nothing but painful so far. Not to mention the few lame maps…
Already sick of Spirit Watch and Skyhammer map spams… So sick of them, I play my worst class or trolliest build every time it’s picked.
Can’t take those maps seriously, either just sit at orb spawn location and have fight scrims or just get on hammer platform and have fun knocking people off, what are “capture points”?
I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

Also mmr is used for both and they aren’t shared between unranked and ranked thanks to that people who only played ranked during last season lowered their mmr in unranked thanks to decay(honestly this could be easely fixed by letting the decay code check for pvp games played instead of played in (un)ranked only) and adressing the issue of you facing new(b) players. This is caused by the loss of your mmr and that the new players their mmr isnt being calculated correctly due to a lack of information for the mmr system+ it is very likely the better players/those that have participated in the league are taking a break.
My last 15 matches have been pure cancer. The worst matchmaking I think I’ve ever had. Brainless teammates in each one. Crap patch, crap matchmaking, what a game. Thank god I didn’t waste money on the expac.
If u leave ranked up between seasons it’s still gonna be bad (or queue times will be super long) because most people just did league for backpiece/achievements and don’t bother pvping offseason
I personally feel a huge level difference between unranked and ranked. I don’t know, maybe my MMR is just insanely higher in ranked than in unranked, but I am bored of stupid teams….
The main issue is few good players want to play unranked in off season.
esl players and qualified teams for pre-season Tournament are reorganizing teams and roster and They play in pvt arenas.
And other good players without pvp league rewards do something else.
Basically this game lacks of a structured and official training mode like 1vs1 or 2vs2 arena
I had it. This is systematically killing the pvp patch after patch, season after season. Can’t even begin to describe today’s experience. And for what? No really, for what?
