Do you trust others with 'your' class?
Trust your teammate.
If you ain’t terribly good then your teammate is probably as great as yourself or if not better (player). Bring your best game and have fun, I guess

meh play what class you enjoy playing. gw2 is far too casual to be caring about composition for random queues.
I think you pose an interesting question, my short answer is you shouldn’t change to something if you personally feel it will make you less effective because it’s not going to change the skill level of the guy your doing it for.
My longer reply would be that I am someone who practices PvP religiously on a multitude of characters so I don’t simply judge the players I’m playing as. Rather I look at the comp in a more broad manner and ask myself questions like what will each player do and what does there equipment say about them. I’m not always correct in my assumptions but I will only switch to something else if I personally believe it can mean I might change the fate of the match in a positive way. That happens vary rarly.
Depends, are you playing seriously or just casually?
Often times, I myself as a fellow mesmer do also groan when I see another join my team. (Which surprisingly enough is generally the only class I groan when I see more than one of…)
I usually bite the bullet though. My spec is usually different than most, so I often hope the difference in builds leads to a benefit than cripple.
It’s usually a toss up if so, but I never assume its a fail. More surprising victories have come out of such plays, that and if the other 3 are decent as well can still be a powerful combo. So, I take my losses and trust they are competent.
as the signature says, i play warrior and engineer. both classes do well stacked, so I usually don’t change. sure, if im on an offclass like ranger i will switch but not on one of my mains. i however always switch to warrior for courtyard, shoutheals are just too good.
currently a Boyfriend main :P

I don’t get it, whats wrong with more than one mesmer?
We got steam rolled by a team of mesmers the other day, granted I am a noob, but that doesn’t mean my whole team was, they had clan tags and fancy looking gear, and what not.
Pretending that every1 in your team is a noob made me win quite some a lot, and also receive whispers like ‘Shuttup fag8 I knw wht I’m doingz lel’.
Just a pro tip
No make a team if you want to care. Never trust MMR never.

This – play what you like and see what happens.
Sometimes an unexpected composition can be the most surprising and fun.
I look for legendaries.
If guy has one, I trust him.
If he had enough money on credit card to buy a legendary, he will surely have some to buy the judges and match, too.

Builds and skills are extremely trivial in this game, I trust pretty much anyone to do their job mechanically on any class.
Rotations however are a different story. When playing with a team there are very few players I trust to rotate perfectly. When soloing, I usually look if they have a Legendary Champion title, if not then I check their armor and weapons if they look like they are there first time or not. If they look completely new then it’s probably an alt account of some decent player, if they look like experienced player, then that’s what they are, experienced players, but if they look like something in between I always expect the worst.
Play what you’re best at and assume they are doing the same – if they multiclass they might change themselves. I would never ask someone to switch class, if you feel you can play another class and be more useful than a 2nd Mesmer thats your choice – but it shouldn’t be you pressuring someone else to switch.
Like this? (3 mes, 2 eles, random team comp)
Same vid if first doesnt play (clean version)

Take whatever. If all else fails so long as you have 1 turret engie, you can have up to 4 scrub mesmers on your team and you’ll do fine. Am I right? Am I right? ;D
