Condi mesmers are the slowet DPS against the lord (and all NPCs) because their damage is maximized when their target is moving (torment) and attacking quickly (confusion), neither of which the lord does.

Um, the lord does move a considerable amount if he is being kited, tho not as much as players. And I do understand that mesmer has the slowest burst of condition damage, but you have to take into the account that carrion amulet still provides decent power damage.
I probably sound like I hate conditions, but the fact is that lord dies too quickly against condis (I would give the poor kitten at least a way to clear them or even better, convert them into boons). At least the condi builds don’t have much mobility and can be stopped before they reach the lord itself.

I’m not hating on your attitude of conditions, I’m just pointing out that mesmer is actually one of the slowest DPS classes for killing the lord because so much of its DPS comes from torment and confusion. That’s why you should always facepalm if you see your condi mesmer go for beast. As you mention, the lord can’t attack while moving, so it will always be stationary for quite awhile, even when being kited.

Is the Lord on the actual Foefire map different than the one in HotM? I know the HotM one doesn’t have a down state, but it does have a condi cleanse with its heal. I thought I saw it heal itself recently on Foefire…

Burn Guard will down the lord in 30s (but we’re not viable)
War+Necro will down the lord in 15s or less

Only way to prevent it is to have some one there with aoe cleanses and heals but you’d have to get there before the condi bursts. If not you’re basically sol.

Edit: Support casters needs to give lord condi cleanses… they never really needed them but there’s so many condi coverages now that burst condi’s remains uncleansed.

/laugh what are you talking about guys, its well knowed that power dmg >>> condi dmg, so dont come here saying lord need condi cleanse, it wouldnt be balanced, i mean look at the end match stats, power dmg >>> condi dmg /laugh

Sarcasm noted but, you’re off topic. We’re talking about how more efficient it is to down lord with condi than power builds. Not how viable condi builds are throughout a competitive match compared to power builds.

Ok seriously tho, lord needs more condi cleanse. Just finished a game where a single necro overloaded him with conditions.
