This happened to me twice yesterday in SPvP. I was fighting someone 1v1. We were pretty evenly matched and both close to down, but I had a little more health and got him down first. Before I could finish him, he used his downed attack to get me down — it only took a couple hits since I was close to down. Then, he’s back at 25% health and invulnerable for one sec, but I’m still down. Since he now has more health than I did when he was down, he’s able to finish me.

Does this make sense? It seems like going down first gave him an advantage.

Let me guess, you were fighting a warrior :P that’s their #3 down skill, vengance

I thought all classes have some kind of attack move. My point is that if I had went down first, I could have got him down before he finished me. Then I would be up with more health (25%) than I had before I went down. I would probably have been able to finish him without going down again (due to higher health). It seems like going down provided an advantage here by the free 25% heal, which I didn’t get to use.

yea, it’s a tricky mechanic but also a double edge sword, if you had managed to dodge out his range, and he used vengeance. you could have literally run around while calling him a noob and making fun of him until he dies on his own.

There are even worst down mechanics like ranger’s where the pet can outheal 20+ ticks of bleeds ( 147 per tick ) or revive the ranger while he’s under strong AoE like it was nothing, and sometimes the pet does not even stop ressing even after it dies. it can’t be cc off because it’ll be back within 2s

If I’m nearly downed after downing a warrior and my healing skill is not ready yet I try to move somewhere he can’t hit me.

Yes very close fights like that warrior will win if you cant get away after you down him.

He used vengeance.

The more irritating thing is when you run your scenario, and because your class has a crappy attack you can’t deal enough damage to kill the opponent before they kill you even though they were downed first.

The whole downed mechanic is awful. They should just allow downed players to provide buffs or debuffs to surrounding targets. Make all classes provide the same buffs and debuffs. And remove all the stupid secondary skills like stealthing, making a clone, AE knockback, etc.

Think of it this way, I know it sucks to be killed by it in pvp, but I sure do love it if I can get two down teammates back up in pvp or in pve to continue the fight then die.

As Luthan said now that you know of this warrior mechanic run away and heal up because the warrior is going to use vengeance to kill ya.
