While Engineers are definitely the tops for this I do think that a hammer Warrior is worth an honorable mention as well. The Warrior’s hammer skills are perfect for CC.

Engi & warrior both have quite a bit of CC & damage.

The warrior tends to be a lot more burst oriented however & has allot less things they need to keep track of.
This leads to the warrior usually being the easiest class in game to play.

The engineer tends to be more condition oriented, not to say they don’t have burst potential, they just don’t bring it all in one big splash like a warrior does.

As for weaknesses, the warrior has to get into melee range and stay there for their ideal performance. This really isn’t much of a problem given their gap closers, CC & snare abilities though.
They also have allot of their burst potential tied to adrenaline & if a hit misses their #$%#$ now.

Otherwise they are strong in most areas of the game.

Engineers have 2 main problems

1: Condition removal. They only have a few ways to remove them & can be downed easily if an enemy is full condition build or rampager build.
&
2: If they are going to burst they have to line up multiple abilities properly.

After these 2 classes I would say the list goes

Mesmer
Elementalist & Necromancer
Ranger
Thief
Then
Guardian
