There’s bigger fish to fry then the old DH nerf-song now. Bunker Druid, Scrapper eles… just dodge-roll = DH countered.
DH is fine right now.
Bunker mes is what needs to be fixed. Make it so their invuln well prevents point capture at a minimum.
High tier meta almost entirely revolves around mesmer and revenant at this point, and yet here we are, still getting DH qq posts lol

In any teamfight DH is the first target and the easiest to take down, running a DH feels almost like having a teef or warrior these days.

I dunno, I can comfortably splatter Dragonhunters on my MM Soldier Necro. If you can survive the initial burst of the traps they kinda just run of steam.

PUG meta is different from high tier organised meta where you don;t necessarily get an ele or mez to deal with them. I’m finding that DHs are the used used class ATM and a lot of them are running cheez trapper runes builds. Its not even necessarily that they’re OP its that they’re exceptionally annoying to fight.

You can easily play rev and destroy DH’s if you don’t wanna play bunker. Both zerker and viper rev destroy DH’s.
My problem with the actual meta is that it gets too hard to play with less experienced players… Some matchs are like 1 mistake = lose a won match( typically earlier, someone left mid to die on far point, and it did cost us the game since we never managed to get back after).
This could happen on a team vs team perspective, but shouldn’t on a solo vs solo..Meta builds should involve a bit more risk, especially regarding the bunker mesmer

Its impossible to play spvp anymore. Just put one DH on each point and you win.
Title is a typo guys. OP is obviously talking about Bunker Mesmers because we all know DH gets countered by at least 3 classes in this game lol

The only reason why bunker classes exist is because there are classes like DH that can take you down in 1 sec, and viceversa. They are in symbiosis. You can’t get rid of one without the other one.

No, the “PUG meta” is only different if your MMR is really low and you get one shot because you don’t know any better, and that’s where Dragonhunters are played. They aren’t OP, they aren’t annoying to fight, and this thread is ridiculous for even existing.
Probably a hysterical bunker chronomancer trying to take the heat off. Revs is the next best choice for that.
DH isn’t really that OP. I think just making it so traps don’t go on CD till they are sprung and that you can’t leave traps outside of a given radius would be fine enough fix for them.

its all about fact that Dh requires 0 skill and 0 knowledge of game to play, and it punishes enemy for not playin perfectly, and for not making perfect evades. Any class that can basically instantly force 2x Dodge on enemy team at the start of the fight should be considered op as kitten. 1 player can force 10 dodges in 5v5. Not to mention fact that once you get dragonmawed its GG to you.
People have cried foul on the forums about literally everything. And guess what? Literally EVERYTHING has been balanced since this game was launched. The games constantly been re-balanced for a reason! Any person here acting like Dragonhunter isn’t going to get a good balancing after its traps were improved three different ways from the beta is outa their minds. Their powerful enough to fight darn near anything and their basically a hardcounter when it comes to a class with projectiles(RIP LB rangers). Yes it can be dodged. But so can Judges Intervention and Whirling Wrath. And you know what? Ive played long enough that Ive probably hit half the people in this thread with that.

Also elitist min maxers might not realize this, but ease of use is a power in itself. Its half the reason Guardians such a popular class. You can screw up horribly and still have a heavy impact for your team. This is extremely powerful when it comes to dragonhunter that can drop lethal traps that will hang around after they’re dead, and you cant see them. Ya go ahead and dodge those traps that you don’t know are there when your in a fight with somebody else.
10k dmg on True shot, Godmode on F3, leap condi cleanse and heal on f2, UNLBOCKABLE spear that pierces and pulls enemies on f1, trait that knock any enemy in close range daze on traps tons of unneded dmg on traps wayy too many passive traits, way too good dmg negation… OFC when you see proleague with 3x bunker 2x rev Dh isnt insane good, but remember! EVEN PRO TEAMS consider Mes Mes REV REV Tempest team comp toxic…Why do you think there is so low amount of Warrs and Thieves? Every class and especially DH deals more dmg and survives more dmg, and helps team more.
Try chasing every kitten class around with a greatsword and perform well at it. Gaurds are pulling out the deck chairs for well deserved break.
I always like how people list all the things a class can do. You can literally do that with any class, and make it sound OP on paper. Unfortunately though, we have plenty of evidence thanks to ESL that DH just isn’t good enough for that meta, so these threads are for naught.
I recall my Engi turrets being called a passive skill that had no place in PvP. Grabbing my popcorn while the community turns on guardians

Rev, and even my own Mesmer, are probably larger concerns.
When the big patch hits, I’m currently looking for a lot of bunker nerfs, and some tweaking to classes like DH.
Because if there wasn’t a bunker meta, DH would actually be really good.
But with the bunker meta? Nah.
I can just stab + boon share & precog my team through it, if need be.
Not to mention after shock and damage mitigation on Tempest.

Problem with DH is, that it’s a strong build, BUT at the top-level, where everyone plays meta (bunker-mesmer, bunker-tempest, marauder-engi and condi rev) he gets absolutely hard-countered by almost all of them.
So what’s gonna happen? they will nerf those builds most likely and then, DH is suddenly the most OP build again. :P
But in the current Meta, no1 needs to complain abaout DH’s; they are absolute bottom-tier and basically useless if ppl play the meta-comps.

DH is easily countered if you have at least 4 brain cells. (2 to dodge, 2 to use your attack skills).
You see him plop down the traps. There is an actual animation they do. Dodge away from that place, and that’s it. More then half his damage is gone.
Don’t go “oh they have more traps then I have dodges”. You have other defensive skills. Use them. If you don’t know how, that is a l2p issue, not a DH problem.

A trapper ranger has no active defences, no stunbreaks, no condition cleanse utilities, no stability and does less damage than a DH. A DH can do more damage (easily 100-0 many builds) and has active defences, immunity, condition cleanses, pulls, stunbreaks, aoe dazes and more.
This huge gulf between almost mirror builds is almost insulting. Why are the new specs and classes so OP? DH isn’t even close to the strongest of the new specs and yet it just totally kittens all over pre-hot trap/bow builds.
