Druid, Necro or Dragon Hunter?
Same question actually. Wanted to play necro but people are saying its not viable for solo sPvP :/
Well if you’re fairly new to gw2 pvp then you’ll probably start out in a lower tier so either DH or necrosis should work fine for you. I’m right on the edge of platinum and there are still quite a few of each that I see
Dont be tricked by the metatards, test by yourselfs , cancer-condi solo necro can be op, if u dont get a stun lock warrior on the way,
Try this build:
DeadShot Amulet.
Rune of Reaper.
Traits: Curses, Spite, Reaper.
Utilities: all reaper shouts, except heal skill, it shoul be the corruption one.
——————-
And if its only about 1×1, u can “cheat” it with any minion build. nothing can beat minion bunker. u die only 2(or more)x1(you) situations.
But remember Ranked sPvp isnt about 1×1. Searching for duels in a ranked match hurts your team, thats why i dont play Minion bunker. i opted for a build that make me do well, on 3×4, 5×5 fights, u must try AoE condi spam/support to help your team fast finish off longtime locked fights. U best role with necro will be the team “fireman”.
Dont show up yourself, at begin of fights, cuz pros teams like target necro first, on 4×4 mid fight, let Guards or other bunker typer get into middle first, u try start behind them with ranged AoE Staff spam, them switch to Scepter/Dagger to more condi-cancer spam, if stacks of foes get near u, spam all your shouts.
Easy targets for kitten condition: rangers, warriors, dumber burn DH (is easy to spot when dumber type), thievs, enginers, power necros.
Hard targets: some fast revs, DH with conditions cleanses, support Elementals, another cancer necro, ghost spam mesmerz.
Easy tricked (they think you are using some metatard build and jump at u): warriors, thievs, dumber burn guard.
Hardly tricked: Rangers, they always run from u.

Against Bad players, a necromancer can be good and do his work, but at medium/high levels where the enemy team make focus and players are no brainless and able to fight you in 1v1 a necromancer don’t have a chance to win (unless heavly sustained by an ele that stay all the day long near him).
Any class that have a high burst, good disengage, good ranged damage or some CC will kill you easy and fast without problems.
Guardian is really good even at mid tiers but at higher levels there’s some “tricks to know” that make a guardian lose a lot of 1v1.
Anyway, a Power guardian that spam traps in a low tier will kill a large amount of players without effort.
Is really easy learn the burst combo and is really easy to play.
There’s also a Condition Damage version (the Burn Guardian) that make him really strong at low tiers because new players don’t have/use “meta” builds and don’t know how to fight conditions, but is really weak at mid/high tiers.
Rangers are seriously strong, even at higher levels. They can support and inflict huge damage, are able to engage and disengage easly and have a perma-immobilize build that grant them to kill a lot of classes easy.
Hard to learn, a lot of combos to know and need a skilled player but with some training you’ll be able to do really great things.
I don’t know which class to play. They are all cool to me, but which one would you recommend for PvP?
I want to do well in 1vs1 situations.
Why don’t you play them all then? You don’t need to be lvl 80 to play a PvP, so i don’t see a problem here:)
Anyway for 1 vs 1 DH (or core guardian), Staff Druid is unkillable (if you really like to play a Ranger class with a Staff?), Necro is not that good but not bad either.
I would say cou can play all of them. But as Nec you shouldnt do the 1vs1 Stuff u are there for the DMG in Teamfights.
I was playing Plat 3 last S only Soloq with Drood and Nec its possible to play Nec solo but u have to be more aware of ganking.
Kämpfe stehts fanatisch, denn du bist ein Menschenjäger!

Were you playing power? Or Condi?
As Nec both at the start. But 90% as Condi.

That’s a tough one actually, assuming you go by the meta they all have their uses.
Druid is a very good 1v1 but doesn’t fare that well against multiple opponents, Necros on the other hand are the exact opposite, they can take on many opponents at once but due to their lack of escapes they get focused down a lot in pvp which can be really really frustrating, still the highest sustain class in the game.
As for DH, it’s a double edged sword imo, it can either wreck kitten up or be fodder, depends on enemy comb.
