This is getting ridiculous. It seems like 9 times out of 10 I join a spvp match to find the players “dueling”. it’s getting to the point that I can’t play the game the way it was meant to be. Either give them a proper place to duel or do something to fix this. Maybe put in some sort of penalty for this. I really don’t know what can be done to fix this other than giving dueling its own proper place. But something has got to give on this, I’m utterly frustrated with pvp atm largely due to this.

Don’ t press Play Now, just manually pick a server that is at least 75% full, and look problem is solved!!

People that duel: “Anet please give us our own place to duel!”

People that don’t duel: “Anet, please give them their own place to duel, not in our space!”

So I have to ask, are the developers aware what dueling is? If so, were they aware of its existence before they developed their game?

Something as blatant as this makes me wonder just how much the developers actually care about us, and how many of them are doing it just for the paycheck.

Im so sick and tired of ppl who cant just join another server when they see ppl duelling, come on there is several hundred servers why ruin it for ppl who wanna duel when u have so much options to join full games of ppl playing the way u want to play…

Well, he doesn’t think he knows how the game is supposed to be played, he KNOWS how it’s supposed to be played.

However, I agree, he should just switch servers. Then A-net should finally make a kitten dueling feature that should have been in the game since release.

i guess when the game opens by saying " hold onto your points seize theirs" i guess the announcer has it wrong too lol who knew !!

To win SPvP, you must get 500 points. To do that, you must capture bases and kill players. So yeah, that is how you play, like it or not.

Did you even read my last post anyway, beyond the part where I said he did know the objective? I was agreeing with you for the most part.

yes u HOLD your points by killing players at ur points, dueling just encourages randoms to run around capping everything while the other team just keeps pvping… but by all means do you bro

dueling players will be in 2-6 pop cap games. this means 3v3. if you’re looking for a 3v3 you’re not gonna find it unless it’s a tourney. if you’re looking for a regular 5v5 try and find something on the lower scales that are atleast 6/10 players. if you’re looking to just play spvp go to a game with 10-13 players.

problem solved. i duel people out of boredom if the room population drops to 3-4 people because a 2v2 is just everyone running around in a circle capping points and occasionally a 2v1.

Red is dead. I could care less about duels. They whine, oh well.

Normally they will leave and I get the win and points.

I don’t respect any of that duel crap. The game is not set up for that and is team spvp. They don’t like it, get on mumble, find some corner of the world to fight in then. You join a game I am in, I will fight anyone.

Devs release 5v5 in hotjoin, YAY! All 5v5 matches are duels, COM’ON

Sick of joining a 5v5 room and people say “THIS IS DUELS ONLY!!1”. Now I just join the 16-player rooms or cap anyways and let them deal with it. A few people can’t just claim ownership of the public room for themselves and tell others they can’t play normally.

When custom servers are implemented, this Duels Only crap will be lessened for sure though.

If you are manually choosing the server you are joining, and you see a server with ~2 players and you are purposefully picking that server to join and ruin someone’s dueling or testing session, then you deserve to die in a fire.

If you’re just pressing Play Now and automatically getting placed into these rooms, then just pick your own servers manually from now on, and avoid the rooms with ~2 players.

If you’re trying to PvP “the way it was meant to be” then you should not being in hotjoin.

I understand and respect that you don’t like dueling, but many of us don’t like running around trying to cap points and then being steamrolled by a 7 man zerg. IMO no skill involved and not really any fun. So you can easily join your higher population servers that are at the top of the server list to enjoy your 8v8, and just let us scroll down to the 3-4 pop servers at the bottom and enjoy our 1v1s.

“hold onto your points” this part no1 in hotjoins follows, must i go rage about it on forums too? cus they dont play like the announcer want us to play?.. Zerging around for next basecap/kill is pretty much what 95% of the players in hotjoins are doing.

Yeah I prefer 5v5 but I no longer play them because 90% of the time they are just 8 players dueling. I don’t mind dueling but it needs it’s own server type.

It would be very cool if they had win streaks and such. Didn’t GW1 have something like that?

I so can not wait for a real PvP update to add the very needed game modes!

Why are threads about dueling still popping up? ArenaNet has told us what they are doing about dueling already…

People need to read before smashing their faces on forums…
