Yes, there is.
There is a chance, slim but still one nonetheless, to drop ascended pieces from the chests from the reward track.

Neah. There is a better chance. Ask Anet for a vote to give more ascended rewards for PvP, all the time, not just during seasons. This will bring more quality in PvP as we would have more quantity. Right?

Which reward chest?
The loot chests from reward tracks. Remember most of them are affected by MF, so you might wanna hoard them til Call of the Mists comes back. (Or open them in SW after completing some events.)
I have like 15 unused ascended chests in my bank from reward track loot, but that’s from thousands of chests opened, so it’s not exactly reliable.
