Hi, I began playing this game starting with the first beta weekend event and stopped less than a month after launch for obvious game-lacking reasons.

I felt like I’ve given this game enough time to develop, but it’s apparent A-net does not have the man power behind making their creative ideas come to fruition. The game has a lot of e-sport potential and is far more fun and rewarding than others of its genre. However, it’s still in its infancy in terms of development (I consider 4 months plenty of time after launch to get spvp at the very least stabilized)

I don’t really care how it’s done or what needs to happen to get things moving, there’s endless walls of text on the forums that discuss that in depth. I’m interested in knowing only a few things, just how long does A-net expect us to wait for a fully immersed competitive environment? Do they even plan on competing with games like LoL, DotA 2, SC2, WoW…? Can we expect A-net to make significant progress in the next 3/6/12… months ?

It really is a shame when I randomly check twitch.tv and I see 300 viewers or less halfway down the second page, especially for a game at this caliber.

This game has about zero chance of e-sport. It’s broken and jacked up in so many ways it’s not even funny. Lose the faith and find something else to e-sport in.

By tomorrow we will have more information and by march some additional systems should be in play. If Mr Sharp listened to the latest SOTG there was some really good feedback there, all it needs is development time and player patience, which both seem in short supply.

certain builds that render all others obsolete require some serious tweaks to bring more variation into the meta. but more importantly, conquest needs to die in a fire. team DM is the basic game mode u start with and build on. common sense. rankings might bring some people back, but until we get team DM, i dont think gw2 pvp is going anywhere big. relying on conquest to carry spvp was a major, major mistake.

Nobody balance games on team deathmatch. Name 1 competitive game where they play team deathmatch.

I’m in the same boat as the OP. I played this game during the betas, then gave up soon after launch. I’ve only clocked about 100 hours so far.

I love the gameplay in GW2. I generally don’t like MMOs/MOBAs but GW2’s action-oriented gameplay is exciting without being stupidly complicated. I’d really like it to succeed so we get similar games in the future.

However, Anet really needs to step up their game. Many of the things people are asking for are very basic and shouldn’t take long to implement.
