I dont spend anymore time then I need to in earth I use a skill I need then swap out, I spend maybe 2 secs in earth every 10 seconds.

Lol if your not swapin into earth every 10s for 60% prot uptime while being attacked then your doing it wrong. Thats how I know your a bad ele.
You must use all your earth skills then wait 25s for them to come up. You dont use all your skills unless you need it.

Not to mention 6s blasts with earth 2 for frost blast, water blast, and might blast. should happen every 10 seconds. Along with alternating reflect when needed+ wall/imboa.

GG tho you should learn the earth skills

Im not django commenting on theif vs ele when he doesn’t even play the professions. Apparently hes taking everything from his 3 ele friends who also says they suck so they might not even play ele either….

I think the different between you and Django is that he play in high rank TPvP and I played against his team and they know what they do. So he also know how easy it is to focus down an Ele. You have a really tough live vs a good team as an Ele in TPvP.

So when I play Solo Q or play vs lower ranked ppl it is easy to kill them fast with a Ele but when the enemy knows how the ele works, how to block attack, how to make pressure on the ele and how to focus targets you need to play you’re Ele really good to get any damage done on the enemy team.

Interesting I got rank 124 team on my ele just before dec 10th ele buffs. When we were just trying out a team. It will be alot easier now with the buffs. So the only difference is I played ele at ranks 100s. and sounds like he hasnt and again his friends think they suck so why would they even try ele in the 100 ranks.

You can play with ele, but you will never be as effective as with another class in your teambuild.

You feel the same way about mesmer?

Mesmers have more ability to disengage, you can loose the focus in teamfights with ports and stealth, you have more invul.

A Staff/GS mesmer is actually fast enough to disengage a thief, but will probably also be killed.

A mesmer just does everything better than an ele at the moment.

Especially Stun mesmers will be coming in this meta.

So to make it short; Our ele is not a really good mesmer. But if he plays mesmer he is so much more effective than on his ele. He dies less, deals about the same dmg or maybe more, has portal. It’s insane this imbalance.

Mesmer could even get top tier in this meta maybe

Yeah, I can BS for 10k while dazing and removing your stability and being automatically in stealth at the beginning of the fight and use my insta-cast basi venom to stun you for 3 seconds and blind you while doing damage and not exiting stealth and all the while I’m hitting for thousands and thousands of damage.

Now if only BS could hit for 10k while still going 30 into Trix and if only it was so easy to get into stealth without using stealth and if only it was so easy to use Basi Venom with its 1-1.5 second casting time and if only it was so easy to do 4k with Shadow Shot or to make it effective whatsoever at close range and if only I could actually hit for thousands and thousands of damage every second without dying from an auto attack.

In team/node fights, zerker staff excel at wiping the other team so fast with just one meteor and lava font as long as heat is not on ele and he’s on a safe range WITH teammates fighting on the node.

In other cases, like 1v1, when ele is alone and is forced to fight ON the node, or a roamer is always on his tail, he’s dead meat and useless unless he’s really good at positioning and evading because zerker ele is so paperthin.

The common thing with the meta builds right now is that they can sustain, survive and fight on a point and can do well alone. Zerker staff ele don’t excel at any of those things.

I’ve “accidentally” killed Fresh Air ele’s on my Engineer without even realizing how I killed them, one moment they’re at full health and the next moment they’re in Vapor Form (downed ability LOL). Fresh Air has nice burst, but catch them in a single immobilize/stun/fear with cantrips on cooldown and it’s GG for them.

D/D bunker is even more useless, you are like one-third as effective as a Guardian/Warrior/Engi and even those classes can put out pressure or CC with their bunker builds, offering better team support.

You said it yourself, 1v1 staff eles is garbage. Even in group play with a coordinated team the easiest targets go down first. If there’s an ele, they die first.

An ele will never be able to outrun a war, mes or thief. We used to be able to but it’s been a long time since. I main an ele so I’m not knocking ele in pve/wvw. But in pvp where we need every single stat we have in pve to be effective… Yet can’t… Makes eles useless in pvp. Also reiterating what someone else said. Why were there no eles at pax?…

Leaderboards don’t mean a thing, in 2 days I was able to reach the top 50 while not even being tryhard, now I’m probably +500 cause I barely play/care anymore.

And this patch wasn’t a buff to ele’s wtf, yes our elemental attunement cooldown got reduced but we’re still forced into 30 arcane because of certain traits like evasive arcana and renewing stamina, without those we would barely have any survivability except through water, and water even aint that effective anymore since they moved our only condi removal we had to the master tier.

In the end we got nothing if not a nerf while other classes got buffed, I was playing better on my ele before the 10th of december then now.

Didn’t you hear, 0/0/30/10/30 with D/D is the new fad. According to these forums, an Ele with Diamond Skin can steamroll everything in the game while being AFK.

Ah I see your talking about SoloQ I guess from the pic. Everyones made it top 10 not even trying. Rank 2 is the highest I’ve been because you need luck to beat rank 1 XD

Lol learn to blink… It’s called lightning flash. It also has no stun break and is on a 32 sec cd traited.

Where as say a thief who can out evade any class and break fights and teleport more than any other class and further… Or mesmers with blink that has a stun break and a 24 sec cd and 1200 range when traited… Plus mesmers have stealth roots, “jump”, cripple, etc…

Now please O plz tell me how an ele can run from a thief or Mesmer… kitten even a guardian with sword, judges int can catch an ele…

And Mesmer, Havent seen many in Team Q use blink to an ele, I could be wrong.
Any good team only sends a thief, they wont send another class at it.

And then the ele just needs to hold out till someone drops at the mid fight. Which eles can survive quite awhile with protection and chaining frozen ground, frozen armor, static field, static armor, earth wall, earth armor + heals. You just need to know how to play

But then again your talking about soloQ lol, no good team sends a guardian with a sword or mesmer after the ele.

i just killed a zerker ele using only my pet lynx earlier in tpvp. he was dealing insane damage and nuked us at the start of battle but as soon as we noticed, he served as a free kill till the game ended.

Clearly, as these other “pros” have pointed out ele is really powerful. That is why everyone plays one, and people never complain when they get one on a team.

You can see more eles the further down the leaderboard you go, b/c those players are playing with a serious handicap.

Edit: Anet, I am really sorry that eles were top-dog for a while many months ago! I think we have served our penance of being total crap since then. Please stop nerfing eles and actually give them meaningful buffs (to survivability) so that the class can actually find a place.

It would be nice if ele was actually an option to bring to tpvp. But the simple fact that every single other profession can do what the ele can 10x easier and better means the ele will always be left out.

The release ele would actually have been perfect in the current meta. I honestly think the ele was almost perfect at launch and everything else just needed to be brought up to its level. Instead of nerfing ele to the ground and then continue to buff every other prof hence forth.

It’s an exaggeration to prove a point. The point being that other then water fields in wvw, ele is useless for pvp in its current form.

It s not a secret why all good eles left or just played another class when it comes to hl pvp. (Mogow left , Karsaib went hambow soldier )

There are so much things that will kill you without any real effort as Elementalist.You always have to outplay your opponent hard

Ya its also not a secret that before everyone left there were still not alot of good players. And GW2 has never been competitive, since the Spvp pop is ridiculously small.

Ele is fine as is for this game.

And if you dont play it then you just find warrior easier with only 1 weapon swap and a heal you aren’t required to click.
