Seriously?

Why the kitten are you putting over half a million dollars into esports if you can’t even put on a kittening show correctly. This could have easily been forseen the day before with some test.

Issues: shoutcaster voices de sync with footage, cameraman was absolutey terrible

In conclusion:

Very unenjoyable stream yet again. I’m glad the chronobunker is gone, that made it less boring but the camera angles were kitten yet again. Can we please get someone competent to control the camera? I honestly don’t give a kitten about watching from the sidelines, what we really want is to see everyone’s skillbars. How the hell are we supposed to dictate what skills are on cooldown or if someone is in trouble or if someone made a clutch play with a skill if we can’t see it first hand. I dont care if someone gets downed i want to see how the person got downed!!! There are just too many animations in this game to not watch from players PoV. Horrible, absolutely horrible stream, get your kittening kitten together for season 2 you kittenm monkeys.

I don’t know what to call it but if you really want us to watch from the “sidelines” and not the player PoV, you need to put all 3 capture points up on the screen so we can at least see all the fights happening and somehow incorporate footage for roads to be seen. I don’t know how you’re going to do it but it needs to be better for season 2. Seriously get at least one thing right anet.

I can agree with you about the camera not always being in the right place. It sometimes even switched away at an important moment and the pro league would make better watching if this was changed. However I don’t think showing all 3 cap points on the screen at the same time is the answer, the camera control just needs improving slightly and to stay on the most important fights.
Although I have recently found out I am in the minority on this, I think showing what skills are used on screen should be a mistake, it would just clutter up the screen too much in my opinion and when they go to a certain player’s PoV, you can see their skill bar anyway. Also, I know most people disagree with me but I quite simply couldn’t care less what skills people are using at one time, it is what happens as a result of those skills that matters to me (do they get a decap? A kill?) so I think the only thing that needed slight improvement on the stream was the camera control, but even that wasn’t bad.

Absolutely awesome competition and I am so hyped for season 2 to start. I hope they continue with pro league for many more seasons as well.

Edit: After re-watching most of the finals, I will take back what I said about the camera control not being perfect. The reason I though that was because there was some important fights that were being missed. However due to there being so much action on all three points in the games, it was just not possible to capture absolutely everything all the time. So I have to say great casting and camera control was great, the only reason it didn’t show everything was because there was just so much going on!

Brilliant finals! Rank 55 dragons dominated as most EU players expected. EU PvP represented to the fullest! Hardcore, fast paced and with passion.

Camera angle? Those are minor technicalities. Well done Anet.

It wasn’t the best with the angles but it was more then competent and was still easy to watch. Jebro apologized when he switched the cam once or twice, it happens.

I agree with everything you listed, complaining about petty things such as camera angle just seems silly to me.

@OP i will tell what having 3 camp on screen is a bad idea. First which fight are the viewers going to focus on?? Second: which ones are the caster going to comentate on?? The current system is fine.

For once, I will actually defend my own camera work on this occasion.

I never do if I see a post like this (which rarely happens) because its all personal opinion, other than if I have blatantly missed something, which happens & I wont deny that.

When using the camera, and being a player/viewer, many want to see the PoV of their fave player, they want to see abilities used in different situations, yes that happens, but it cant happen throughout the entire game. The game has many different aspects to cover & also a story to set the scene, we need the general overlook which imo was explained through each game yesterday.
Cap points
Kills
Downs
Respawns
Rotations
buffs
etc

With a new META also brings new work to the camera in terms of how the caster approaches it, the pace has increased, fights are back in ‘roads’ so its a matter of adjusting which I was fairly happy with.

Complaints about camera were few and far between as I re-watched the cast and the chat, so I feel this is more of a personal aspect for yourself.

As someone said above, there were issues here and there which I realise and I do go back and watch my casts to improve that work on the next show. I appreciate feedback, but constructive.

Nope, it’s not the gane fault either. It’s your fault!!! Get it right. You are complaining about minor technalities. Don’t blame the game, the game doesn’t run itself.

They should really should drop Twitch and stream on YouTube, or at least stream both at the same time. Twitch just has too many technical glitches

I agree. It cant be the camera or who operates it fault. This game mode was not made to follow 3 cap points at the same time as well as 10 players. Anet might want to consider do a 1v1 death match in a ring instead. Like in BnS. Easier camera follow.

It was a good fianals. i Watched it all. good fun. good casting. And a good job casting it.
it would be nice in a couple of days maybe to get the POV from the different players through twitch video . the computers used should be able to do some recording on a fast pc on a “s s d” drive . shadowplay and so forth.

want to say agin. good fights and great casting. you really gave it all and lived into the matchs. I was entertained.

I agree with you about that, the commentary was great and it makes the matches so entertaining. Without that I would not find it nearly as exciting. I also really like how jebro clearly really likes what he is doing and stars shouting about awesome plays that are made, you can’t fake that. By the way my fave part was at the end of game 2 Vm vs. Abj. The commentary there got me so hyped about what could happen in the next games of that semi final. Great job overall.

The audio desyncing was a total killer. Stopped watching the stream several times because of that.

Also yeah, camera options in game definitely aren’t that nice. You get weird viewing angles where you’d like to move closer to see more but can’t so you just keep moving the camera in the direction of the player as he/she walks further from the camera. Eventually giving up and clicking on the player to follow.

It’d be nice if there was some smart algorithm that averaged player distances to give a view.

I actually thought the quality of the casting was quite good. They did a really nice job.

I just would prefer to see a double elimination similar to WTS with best of 3 sets. The whole best of 5 is too much except for the grand finals.

The casting was good but it really highlighted how poor the spectator/observer options were for casters since the fights looked terrible and you couldn’t view all 3 points at the same time.

I don’t care which node or player they wanted to be highlighted as long as the Mini Map is Visible, i can manage . As i don’t follow any stream of theirs, how long do they take to get those raw vids on youtube? don’t get me wrong i just wanted to watch some top tier fights.

If they keep getting 3k viewers then their e-sports is going to die so quick.

They don’t really understand that you just don’t throw money at something and have it fix itself automatically. There’s so much wrong with pvp in this game that I can’t really see how they’re going to sustain giving out money to what looks to be an apparent financial loss.

I post from a phone so please excuse any references to ducks or any other auto corrections.
