I Hate Dumb Teams – nec
I am not a pro or a big fan of ESL though I watch it from time to time… With this meta I think they would do good in using the treb, maby they will build a team centered around the treb to counter the meta. If the treb is used right it can be the reason for a victory.

I agree with her about how the treb is often misused in solo queue. However, before leagues started we won a 4v5 in Khylo. Out of all the maps, it is the least hostile to being outnumbered.
Back on topic, we won the 4v5 because one of the guys in our team was a wvw commander. He was out of this world with his treb OPness and was using it as if it was on weapon swap.
I dont know how the pro leagues would approach it but if someone in the team is amazing with it, then use it for sure.

Being a kitten good trebber myself i can say “It depends”. Against a player with medium awarness treb means nothing (evades, panic buttons etc). However if they’re already under pressure from your teammates, then with treb’s help they might discover they run out of their panic buttons bit too soon and they’re going down.
Also a good trebber is a major cause of panic for enemies sending ppl to take down the treb. If you’re good at defending it, you can buy your team some serious advantage with outnumbered enemy at caps.
And yeah, treb can be fun. Blasting them when they least expect it like close to the 2nd treb when they encouter a teammate half way to our capture point:3 or when they go outside middle cap room on the ramp and think they’re safe….or NOT!:>
Amazing trebbers are a rarity. Pro teams are rotation, team combat and 1v1 focused. Only amazing trebbers should attempt to use treb. Everyone should cap instead. If one teammate is an idiot and decides to treb even though he sucks at it (HAPPENS ALL THE TIME) then he puts your team in a disadvantage. If the other team is smart, they will let the other team stay on treb.
This is one of those cases where the exception to the rule is so much counter to it that it’s impossible for someone who hasn’t seen that exception in action to believe or accept it. The treb can be effective and worth devoting someone to, but only if that someone not only knows HOW to use it, but WHEN to NOT use it. They also need to be able to easily kill anything that gets sent to it – a big part of it’s value is having the other team waste time and resources countering it – and be mobile enough to cap when appropriate.
It’s very true that someone using treb who shouldn’t is the cause of a loss….but it’s also true that someone who should be using treb is THE reason a team wins. This is especially true with the current meta.

None of the ranked battlegrounds are good. Khylo is kinda fun if treb isn’t used too much. Forest is okay but NPC kills gotta go.
Conquest actually is good because you don’t have to go out of your way (i.e., away from points) to deal with the other team killing lord and since losing is something one tries avoiding you’ll still get in some good PvP (albeit with NPCs to attack and defend as well but it’s one clear goal, not hold points and zerg lord if far enough behind) There should be a gentlemen’s agreement among the players never to go for lord, but then again like people who play Akuma in Street Fighter you know you’ll have violators.
sPvP should definitely have a map with no secondary mechanics or gimmicks…3 years in, it’s almost impossible to believe that such a map has not been added, but very easy to believe when you consider the new map they HAVE added, Stronghold, and what they did to the BLs and WvW.
The degree to which ANet does certain things well is amazing, but it is neutralized by the incredible extent to which they fail in other areas. Even worse, it’s not rocket science. Very puzzling and extremely disappointing.

There was a time when I enjoyed WvW almost as much as I do spvp. It’s hurts me seeing them destroy what once brought joy to many of us. WvW used to be a fun playground and the feature set gw2 apart from other MMOs.
Same for pve. Not only is it boring but you could no longer explore on your own without being in a zerg led by a commander. And those servers are always full!!!
