ETA on playable queue system?
funny that questions like this don’t make it in to the SOTG.

You kittens don’t even know what the prefix “meta” means.
to be honest it’s probably easiest to hit them up via twitter or other social media… I doubt they look at these forums often with so many important threads unanswered

I dont understand this point. You queue for a team based tournament without a team, and get mad when people WITH a team smash you.
sitting in a solo-only queue endlessly waiting for fights is different than taking the time to organize a team how, exactly?
If the ‘tournament’ was team-based, or rather, team-intended, it would NOT allow for solo entries.
here anet, i spend 3 min for you to solve your queue problems:
separate solo q and team q tournies w/ independant leaderboards
only join team tourny with a guild, team leaderboard == guild rank leaderboard
probably everyone here will hate this because it seems restrictive, but it will help create “team” atmosphere and gives a reason to be in a guild.
you’re welcome

They probably leave some threads unanswered either because a) they don’t have answers b) they don’t want to answer c) They are too busy working to answer.

Yea, because just typing words creates the patch and applies it to the server.

hi and thanks for your input
i am basing my post on presupposition that pvp dev team doesn’t know what they want to do, because they’ve not given us any indication that they do.

Restricting tournaments to groups only would just about kill this game. Instead of it forcing people to group what would happen if the vast majority of people would just stop doing TPVP. I personally would uninstall the game immediately.

And that, sir, is why anet is off making millions from their game while you are… uhh… not.

Well I suppose the grand majority of GW1 pvp must be horrid then for forcing people to team up! Surprisingly enough, that pvp still lasted many, many years, and only really went as dead as it currently is because of GW2 release, not because of the superiority of the latter’s pvp side. Blasphemy, eh.
I don’t think your kind will be missed, if you uninstall. What I am wondering, however, is why I haven’t yet uninstalled a game that not only throws in randoms with pugs in the sole somewhat serious format, but also bases a ladder off that kind of ‘matchmaking’.

Yeah look at those 5 NA teams pumping millions into the game.

with 99.9% of that coming from pve/wvw
I’m not saying that forcing people to play in teams for ranked play is a bad thing, allowing stragglers/newer players to enter this queue w/o a full team expecting to be matched fairly is just flat out bad design.
Even with custom games, PvP lacks a casual-friendly option for people to rely just play together. I’d like to be able to throw GW2 LAN parties for example, and just pug it up with my RL friends all night, but there isn’t a casual outlet that encourages this type of play.
Custom games are great, but they still operate on the same level as hotjoins in terms of casual play. The casual player-base IS the livestream viewer-base, they don’t want to have to spend 1/2 their energy trying to coordinate getting on the same team as their friends, especially if they have a chance of failing at it.
Tldr; Custom games will not facilitate a casual player base in their current state, nor will tournament games. Casuals = long term viewers, 0 long term viewers = low community morale/will to play. Long term viewers also = best PvP marketing outlet.

We have an editor and chief, but the site isn’t “technically” launched yet (notice the lack of content for other games lol). When the site goes up for real we’re going to be putting up 10+ articles per day and our full staff will jump on board so every article is professional and consistent in quality. I chose to begin my work covering GW2 in January because I wanted to secure it’s place on the site as an eSports title and because I wanted to promote the games PvP.
