“As of April 13th, 2015, there will be changes in the distrubution of gem prizes in our Guild Wars 2 Cups.

At least 8 teams per event will be required for the gem prizes to be up for grabs. This change will effect our 2on2, 5on5, and Go4GuildWars2 series, which means more fierce competition, and much more action.

Make sure you sign up for this week’s cup for a chance at that gem prize!"

There aren’t even max 4 teams in the EU scene and now we even get punished for still playing in the competitive league

How logical is this?

inb4 every1 switches to NA.

Can I make a 1 man team and don’t show up, so the cup can at least be fought out by the 4 normal teams?

The esl scene is already dead. The game is dead competitively due to lame one shot mechanics like from any class with fire/air sigils.

And it is pretty dumb they give away gems and money for 4 team tournaments. 4/5 teams turn up every week. The scene is literally deader than dead.

It seems that ultimatums are now being used to try to get people to play competitively! So silly!

Also… you can make more by flipping burgers at BK so why bother.

I always thought it shouldve went the route of ToL/ToG:

• *If you win 1 round – you get a reward (small ofc)

It can be something as small as 1g, currently gw2 is you can be ALWAYS 3/4rd best team and you get nothing.
Again, this is not greedily asking for free casual rewards – just a small reason to show up and play even though you know you cant beat everyone but the top2 teams.
