There are excellent ways of mitigating condition damage, it’s called condition removal.

Which is always available like, say, condition spam ?
Then between condition removal and toughness cond dmg would be just crap.

Would not be crap would be reasonable.Every time im downed its either retaliation, conditions or thief burst.Where is normal damage? why is it considered second grade? Condition damage should be auxiliary except maybe for necros, not main source of damage on almost every occasion.

Retaliation requires you to be attacking into them. Dont do this.
conditions
Bleeds require time to apply enough stacks to do any sort of noticable damage. Wait till it stacks up and then wipe them to reset your opponents damage output. This is balanced, if you find yourself constantly dieing to conditions, I’d suggest looking at more condition removal options. All classes have them.
or thief burst.
Is (hopefully) being properly address in the patch in 2-3 days.

Everywhere, and it isn’t, im guessing you’re just a build that is resiliant to regular damage.

That’s just like, your opinion. Man.

Nerf away then.
Conditions are more tricky than direct damage. Don’t remove crapy ones and don’t remove them at once. As Paranoid said “Bleeds require time to apply enough stacks to do any sort of noticable damage. Wait till it stacks up and then wipe them to reset your opponents damage output.” When u see a lot of bleeds or a long stack of burning/poison – that’s the most dangerous situation. Try saving ur removal for it. Besides – that may be when your opponent’s best skills are on cd and u can get a chance to kill him before new stacks eat u.
People that complain about the lack of removals tend to use them at the most ill-opportune moments. If you waste it on non threatening stacks, it’s no wonder you get rolled by condition damage. Yes, they can apply it faster than you will ever remove, but if it were the other way around, condition damage will never kill anyone.
7-10 stacks of bleed is a good time to remove stacks, any more they’ll have some momentum, anything less is wasting said cool down. Condition damage needs a ramp up time, break their momentum and you push them far back in the DPS race.
You people talk as if only condition damage in game is bleed. How about guardian applying 1 burn pretty much per every attack? How you remove that? Or mesmer applying stacks of confusion every 3-4 seconds? Or necro spamming conditions with staff, scepter and utility skills?
