Easy ay to get more ppl doing tpvp
i love rolling pugs that have zero organization. go solo queue go. real life tho i hate being rolled by premades when i don’t have a premade. go solo queue go.
and why is League of Legends the only game I’ve played that has done the obvious and have a queue for solo/duo and team? oh yeah, and they have something like 32 million registered accounts now and how many million daily players? why does no other game do this? for the sake of being different? well, I bet they’d like Riot’s success and revenue right about now. lol gotta have the casuals spending money so the pro’s have a game that can support huge tournaments with cash prizes right?
What… this doesn’t solve a thing.
The reason why people aren’t playing tpvp is mainly because the ticket fee is so high. On top of that, it’s really unlikely that a player on his first tpvp session w/o prior competitive tournament experience will get past the first map.
Your solution is even more offputting. Might as well rename the “Join as Solo” into “Destroy 5 tournament tickets.”

He’s talking about free tournaments. I’m just pointing this out to (hopefully) shield you slightly from a flood of 6-8 disheartening comments about your reading ability, since so many people seem to love handing out insults. Honest mistake, no harm no foul.
What they need is 5v5 hotjoin instead of (or supplementary to) 8v8 hotjoin. that would keep a lot more casuals playing longer. If this doesnt appear i predict GW2 dead by xmas.

Since when 5 tickets is a lot lol! If u wanna go paid tourneys that would mean that u have played quite a bit pvp i.e u have lot’s of tickets. Even tho If u don’t have 30 tickets are like 360 gems. It’s easy to get gold in this game.
Solo ques (pug) vs (pug) in the match making, whoa, super change right there. It normally goes (for me when I solo que) us pug vs pug or crappy premade, second round is us pug vs super ridiculous premade that beats you by a lot and most of your team has forgotten about point control and are zerging in the middle.
Love joining premades, first thing I say is “strat?” to no reply, then “whats your builds?” (to formulate a strat) to no reply. So, I say, “I’m holding mines, will call incs, roamer or burst to come help on inc”. That results in me holding mines by myself, and then the team getting wiped at keep and then the whole team coming to curb stomp the one guy at mines (cause you need to waist 30sec each fighting that 1 bunker that can’t kill me and I’m already there). After they kill the guy, its another 10sec of them all staying there to get the 10 glory with me trying to tell them to leave.
Does anyone read their chat log? Miraculously the team we are vsing must be just as bad because we still manage to win. Then round 2, lose, instantly, midas well /surrender. I only win round 2 when there are 2 or more people in voice com. The others just don’t count, they can do whatever they want really, as long as its near a point. Me and my bunker friend can fend of 2 points for some time while the other 3 guys (or 2 if we have our 3rd guy) can go whichever point they want.

the only thing we need is a ladder system a la GW1. it was great in GW1, and it will be too in GW2. hopefully it comes with an observer mode similar to what we had in GW1 too.
it will come people. just get good until then.
I’d have to agree. The UI for free tournaments is a little intimidating for a casual or new player. I know it tells you you can queue by yourself, but all the screens seem to imply you should be doing it with a full group. I know I felt like I was doing something wrong the first few times I solo queued. A simple “join as solo” button would probably encourage some people who might otherwise shy away from the tournaments and shouldn’t pose a serious amount of work to add.
