hey GW pros…im new to gw and already a FULL BLOWN addict. I have a 29 necro so far but I’m interested in having a 2 handed weapon user also. Would anyone be kind enough to list the effective 2h weapon users in PVP and their pros/cons? I have NO clue lol. I JUST purchased the HoT xpac and am obsessing about who to burn my insta lvl boost on. thanks a ton in adnvance for any time spent on this topic!

play pvp with 2h builds then see which playstyle you like the best. You dont need the 80 boost for PvP, unless you want to focus on one character for PvP and PvE

As someone put it sPvP is like playing rock paper scissors, its more about match ups than anything. One match you might run your 2h build and do well another match your build becomes useless.

You are just expected to guess what the other team is running and then re build which can mean not using a 2h weapon.

PvP is about to go through massive changes which may include a balance patch. I would suggest not playing till the update comes out. If you really want to run something now try:
Greatsword/longbow warrior
Longbow Dragonhunter
Longbow druid
Staff daredevil
hammer scrapper
Greatsword mesmer/chrono

Try these and see which you like best. As for the 80 boost i would probably wait till update.

O and the matchups thing doesnt apply to condi mesmers and dragon hunters, they have no problems using one build against everything. Thief as well

When you say “2 handed” do you mean any two handed weapon or just hammer and greatsword?

After all almost every necro build runs a staff which is technically a 2 handed weapon.

In PvP tje level doesn’t matter, just your PvP build – and that should be different as your PvE build

And since you are new to PvP – always fight on point and if the opponent holds mid – go for far, should work well for a new player
