A balance philosophy based on possible outcomes, both the elementalist and necromancer class have been victims of this practice since launch…no even before launch.
The end result of this process is that both these professions lost their identity, their only fault: their potential.

One profession has access to 20 skills , the other has “two” health bars in practice.
I bet in the beginning this must have looked such a great idea among the devs, then..it started : “the what if”… .balance approach.

An exorbitant list of weaknesses was added to both professions, to counter the benefits of the two mechanics; with this addition the devs thought the problem was solved..but instead they created an even bigger problem.

Ele and Necro, either too weak..or too powerful, they’ve never been able to reach a happy medium…because there is no medium level, the design basis is extremely bad so you either add so many weaknesses to completely offset the benefits or you give these two classes , a level of buffs comparable to other professions…something that you can’t do.

Ele and Necro will always lag behind other profession and this because the devs refuse to take some necessary and drastic measures : class overhaul.

100% spot on, balance on these 2 classes has been quite questionable.

Well with the new weapons and traits it’s their chance to fix it.

not even close to the thief in my opinion. It is extremely hard to balance a class that can use the best skills in the best situations without needing to wait for cooldowns.

Would have to agree with thief should have been the hardest to balance due to having some insane strengths that other classes can’t even come close to matching. But for whatever reason necro and ele seem to be giving them even more trouble since thief has been pretty well balanced for a long time now. They are are very strong and people complain about them being op and they are, but not by too much, and everyone complains that everyone else is op.

Necro at the very least needs changes to base skills and traits honestly. I’ve been semi-avoiding those forums cause most people just talk about how various aspects of them suck. Hopefully the elite specialization isn’t required to make them equivalent to other classes, same for ele if they suck, same for ele if they suck.
