Confirmed in game that Soothing Disruption and Shocking Aura have shorter durations, both to 5 seconds respectively.
You can also no longer stack vigor to 25 seconds+ through Renewing Stamina’s new 5 second internal.
Please post other changes to Elementalist that were not on the notes you find in this thread.

Dude, i realy like this game, i want to be positive. When i read the original patch notes it was a literal slap in the face, i was really holding out alot of hope for this patch.

But if some things got nerfed and unmentioned, that might mean this patch is … less unpalatable. And then i can continue to wait for further improvement.

There goes quite a bit of my survivability with my burst S/D ele with this EA nerf. :/
They said they would do it, lets hope that’s not all
corrected an error, though bomb confusion got a buff, was mistaken.

they dont need a nerf. Hs spammers are so easy to kill its not an issue.
D/D it hurts us but doesn’t kill us. It hurts the bunker builds.

Its definitely a nerf to the main d/d build. Mobility, and sustain have been hit. 1v1 capabilities should be relatively the same but I see the larger engagements leaving you a bit less effective because of the EA nerf, however nothing too terrible.
All in all, I think its the first step toward a much needed change for Ele’s. Even though I played on a team that ran double ele double ranger I dont think it’s healthy for the game to have groups strengthen the more eles that are slotted. Hopefully these changes get less people playing them in abundance in tpvp.

Well, now that we have solo Q i guess i will only be playing tournaments anyway.
However 50% of the people in hot join play thief, 1v1 against HS spammer easy. When 2+ of these dudes come out of stealths near you, you will die, fast. No matter how skilled, no matter what class.

Interesting. These changes look like they are at least something to bring down the ele build giving trouble. Whereas with the actual patch notes it looked almost non existant. With the changes you found though….it seems more impressive the nerf and more like what was needed (imho)

Thief traps have been fixed, they work as intended now.
The funny thing is that those fixes (lets be honest, we were to good) to elementalist will be enough for the bandwagon to choo choo away from our class and onto the next Trap rangers, beware

I, too, believe Trap Rangers will be the next fotm. Or thieves again.
I feel as if the swiftness and fury duration from zephyr’s boon has been cut back a bit. It may be hard to tell if you’re using 2 monk, 2 water, 2 whatever, but with divinity runes in wvw it just feels a bit different. Anyone else notice this?

(or any other profession for that matter)

The ele does not survive to two professions..stop talking crap, ele has become infamous for the bunker build which is supposed to survive against 2 opponents as Anet very clearly explained and desire for the game, on its own no weapon set on ele survive against 2 opponents and neither every build achieve the obvious survival of the bunker build

How can you claim “the crowd still screaming not enough” when most of them were not aware of these recent ninja changes? Were you the guy quoting me due to my “Ele hatred”?. We have some serious case of nerphobia here.
The fix to the trait that gives fury/quickness on aura apply hurted me bad its harder to have 100% uptime of fury now =/

Well I’m sorry you were unaware of the ninja nerfs. That’s not my fault now, is it? Anyway, they are updating the patch notes now.
Want to point out that kit refinement from engineers does NOT appear to have a cooldown of 10 seconds. So this change isnt working right it seems.
These ele nerfs are not significant. Just delete the class? Please. People are sick of the lack of builds that work in this game and the difference in power between various classes. It’s a joke.
Now just clean up the staff clunkiness, improve a few scepter skills, re-hash some of the useless traits, improve glyph utilities, make elemental weapons desirable, and you may actually have elementalists trying new builds and weapons sets!

I haven’t got the patch downloaded yet, but in looking over the patch notes it appears the change applies only to elixir gun, toolkit, grenade kit, and flamethrower.
This is good because the refinement from the other two kits are broken and don’t usually do anything at all. It was kind of like a wink from the devs saying “we won’t nerf the things that are also bugged…”
One of the other forum posters reported the 10sec global cooldown working in addition to the individual cooldowns. Yay, hidden cooldowns! Very anxious to test this as it has a huge impact on practically every viable PvP build we have.

But what would be good enough? Mobility has been hit,vigor/regen has been hit fury has been hit.
I mean what should they do with the cantrips trait..?They already reduced it by 40% .If vigor were to last less than 4 sec it wouldnt be enough for 1 extra dodge regeneration for the activation of 60 to 90 sec skill.
So 6 seconds is the bare minimum to keep it effective imo.Reduce more and it might be better to just completely redesign the trait
I think they could have taken a complete deferent direction and instead of nerfing everything a little bit they could nerf the aoe capabilities of skills so stacking eles together doesnt double their healing/boon efficiency etc..and of course mobility >healing in terms of being fun to play so id prefer they touch only the latter from now on..
at this point, we just need to buff other builds i guess. the problem is, this didnt happen since beta. we’ve been stuck on the same builds for what seems like an eternity.
