Elementalists are not bad, others classes are just too good.
Let’s stop powercreeping, please.
The same happened with Warriors when they were the one balanced class. Instead of nerfing the broken mechanics/classes, they chose to buff weaker classes resulting in inflation of conditions, endurance and defensive utilities.

Good luck nerfing all the other classes without causing en epic uproar.

Maybe switching the mesmer hp pool and toughness with the ele’s could bring about a fresh change.

Mesmer has enough break targets, interrupts, conditions, invisibility that they don’t really have a problem with avoiding damage. Top that with the clones/phants, traits, and weapon sets a good mesmer can prolong a 2v1 or even a 3v1 for some time.

Staff and Sword/X is a good example of how a mesmer can appear to be tanky without having to invest into their Chaos and Inspiration lines.

I really don’t want to make it sound like a mesmer hate post but sometimes their hp pool/toughness seems a little too much for all they can pull off.

People that start QQ’ing because “their” profession get nerfed, are the same people who want an “I win button”. The game is better off without those people, so yes, they should go ahead and nerf the professions and just ignore the uproar.

It’s kind of hard to balance ele. If you boost it so much that average ele can beat average warrior then high skilled warrior doesn’t have any chance beat high skilled ele. Of course need to remember that every player is perfect. If somebody lose fight he lose because class is bad, not because he just push random buttons without thinking

No, they don’t - but they should. Players crying for buffs to any profession, simply does not understand the term Powercreep. And apparently, neither does Anet. This is the reason that the oldschool Bulls Charge/100Blades meta was far better than the condition-spam one we have now.

Every single horrible spec that has ever surfaced in GW2, was the result of buffing certain professions. Dhuumfire Necro (Terrormancer), SD Thieves, Spirit Rangers, 100Nades, Signet Warrior (Hambow), PU Mesmer, Beastmaster Bunker, Immortal Mesmer etc.

By now, one would assume that people would be able to see the pattern. Stop buffing everything to match what is currently OP, stop adding hardcounters which eliminates skillful play, stop reducing cooldowns to promote even more spam. Look, when conditions are overpowered, nerf them. Don’t give every single profession access to more condition removal, or add ridiculous counters like Diamond Skin. Stealth is being abused? Don’t add ’Revealed’ to one skill, or add WvW traps. Nerf the ability to enter stealth instead. Guardians and Eles have too many boons? Oh, I guess we’ll add spammable boon stripping to the Thief, and the Thief only. That’ll fix things. Yeeah, nope.

People will always riot when ’their’ profession gets hit. Human nature. Players want the maximum reward, for the minimum effort. You can’t change that, but for the better of the game, Anet should not cater to it.

Phantaram actually used to play 0/20/0/20/30 with valkyrie’s amulet and divinity runes, probably still know the traits out of my head since I played with it so often. Too bad that build doesn’t do jack kitten now anymore lol.

Also you forgot to mention they nerfed divinity from 3% to 2%, which was the rune mostly ele’s used

Ya ele was nerfed all because of this guy I have never heard of and his spvp team. Darn you and your team for being so op u got the whole class nerfed. On a more serious note though ele was the fotm for months and months. Clans were demanding their members train up and ele if they didn’t have one. I saw guilds running 15-20 or more dd eles in wvw. But ya they were nerfed cus of you. Not because they had everything kinda like warrior does now. Did they take the nerfs to far maybe. I still run into very strong eles now and then.
