To who that just think that eles are weak, I just playes a match with 3 Eles against 3 DH.
And we won. We destroyed them in every fight.
Eles are still a strong class, expecially if stacked. High heal and good damage (expecially AoE) make them good still in this meta, still against 3 DH.
almost every class is good when stacked which is why class stacking should not be allowed in ranked. Ive seen a 3 Thief team beat an enemy team that had 2 DH on it. The 3 thieves would move together and zerg spike burst anyone they came across.

But you are really judging a class for a single random match in unranked? Do you really think that it is the right way of judging a class?
Because you know, I can invite 4 skilled eles and join an unranked match, go everyone fresh air core Ele and maybe win the match because a lucky matchmaking and post the screenshot here. Would be that means Ele fresh air is a strong metà class?
You beat players way worse then yourself. Grats. Eles are still ok but its the same old support build and variants. You try to be do damage as an ele you are doing it wrong. I mean can we admit there are players of wide skill range playing this game. Just because x or y happens a lot of the time it has nothing to do with the classes people are playing. If you are a lot better then another player it doesnt matter you are playing something weak and they are playing something strong you can and will beat them.
A 5 man Ele premade team can beat another premade team who tried to play with actual builds and correct class comps… Ours played with 2 Menders, a Sage a Marauder and a Paladin.
It’s good to see other people catching on to Ele potential. Takes a bit of skill to play Ele effectively at the moment which is why not many people believe ele has any place in current PvP, no Celestial/Cleric AMMY to carry the mistakes.
End of the day though if you play what you find fun and you win with it, doesn’t matter what others think. At least you’re not waiting for the next ESL to find out what your next build is going to be.
I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.

If there will be no new balance patch before next ESL thing or new amulet ele will stay as healbot…or be kicked if somebody finds better team comp and rotations…ele is in meta literally because there is no stacking rule in Tournaments…class is not mandatory like mes, rev or even necro .

Ele is a lot more than a healbot in my hands but I’ve also come to realize through teaching others ele that I look at the class differently to others, to me it’s purely utilities that get utilized such as water fields, blasts, cc and so on and not “heals” or “DPS” orientated, I’ll triple blast my own Icefield just for 3x AoE condi removals for the team before dropping healing rain to clear the rest without even thinking about how much DPS/Heals was being output….. The 5 man ele team I referenced was purely just for fun, we also did 5 man thief teams and a few others. Oddly, we lost our first game when we stacked DH’s….
Mes and Rev are still viable? I must be way lower in the MMR, my games are filled with Druids, Ele, Thief, War, Necro and occasional DH. Condi mes is useless down in my tier and every Rev get’s pooped on by the first condi bomb from the Nec. Of course, this is all unranked, can’t say what the new season will bring.

Mesmer is broken as kitten and Revenant is still very strong. A lot of the changes to those classes made them harder to play without actually making them overall weaker.

Ele here. Our class is kinda op, it is countered by condi though.
ele and druid are actually the reason condi war/necro are so viable atm, and they have higher winrates at high mmr than low mmr.
IMO the best fix would be overhaul boonstripping.
Like right now you can get 40 boons on somebody, and there’s no way to boonstrip our 3-8 toughnesses, so we just drop those before somebody does phys dmg.
Ele spamming toughness is the only actual reason condis are stronger than power dmg atm.
Remove ALL boonstripping from mes (they already are cancer in 1v1), and give the most garbage trees on other classes a boonstripping option so that they can choose to kitten themselves a bit for some better dps if they are really skilled.
The only boon strip meta Chronomancer has is the third chain of their sword auto. That’s not really something that is used… and nothing else in your comment really made sense. Elementalist isn’t why condi classes are viable. Bunkers are. And it’s not because they’re countered by condis. The corruption of Necromancer is what counters bunkers. The CC of Warrior is what counters bunkers. I think you mostly understand why Necromancer is strong because you move into boon stripping talk (even though Necromancer does corruption). But the part about 40 boons and 3-8 “toughnesses” just doesn’t read properly… Regardless, they shouldn’t add too many more ways to strip or corrupt boons. They just need to make boons less prevalent. Boons have slowly gotten easier and easier to maintain. You shouldn’t have to outplay what’s basically passive.

Ele are good when they have team mate to peel for them.
The Focus Fire cc chain, is almost worse than Reaper… cause we don’t have lifeforce to sustain it and the same amount of stunbreak.

Well, ele is good against DH so I’m rather unsure what this thread is trying to prove. If 3 eles can’t kill 3 DH they are simply horrendous. Now please take 3 eles against 3 necros and come back telling us how necro is still strong and all.

Eles are not OP in PVP by any means, they are called weak atm because they lost the ability to hold points alone. They have become a support class that is supposed to well… support…They will likely never be removed from the meta just because of the healing and condi cleanse they pump out.
My guess is that Op was trying to use the fact that he won against 3 Dh (classic low tier pub stomp class) With 3 Ele (currently has a stigma due to its role becoming pure support over being able to hold point against multiple opponents) He failed to take in to account that this game is 3 parts rock paper scissors, 4 parts skill, 3 parts team comp/synergy. Eles are rock and DHs are scissors
OP is right. Eles are in a good spot. in pro league u can use ele for countercomp so it still has it use there even if it’s not the as good as it was before. However what it suffers from is build diversity. In ranked and unranked u can still use scepter focus fresh air. and certai power/bruiser esque tempests for a dps role. And while these builds have a higher skill requirement. the DPS is simply lacking compared to other classes that deal damage and or condition damage. So yes u can be a contributive power tempest/ele player if u far outskill your opponents. it doesn’t make them bad builds it definately makes them unplayable on anything beyond amber/emerald/unranked to the majority of players.
Eles can be condi burst down to 0 in 5 sec from any half good Engi or War or Mes or any other heavy condi build.
A bit ironic since they do have a ton of condi cleanse and still it’s not enough to keep them alive.
If you are aware of another class that is as or more weak at the current balance condi kitten state,please share it with us.
