Im starting to feel like while not on “purpose” (and by purpose I mean they do it without really been aware of it) we are getting ignored, specifically when the issue of survival mechanics. I really hate to call out things but, the “warrior discussion” got a reply from a red within 3 posts, the one before that was within the 2 page and I remember an older thread about warriors before that that got 3 replies in less than 2 days. Yet I see no talks whenever “elementalist” is mentioned. Is anyone else noticing the trend in which since warriors is the most played class (14% population), most red I have seen play warrior (Wide Charr, one of the Devs, the blond one, forgot his name, I even remember that in on SoTG he wasnt comfortable about how he couldnt go all in with his warrior) and many others. Just want to know if this i just perceived by the elementalist community of that warriors are more loved by even the devs?

Why do we keep getting ignored? Why havent anyone sat down and started asking question about what are the elementalist players asking? Why dont we have polls? I feel that there is no communication between devs and the ele community. Yes, Im aware this thread will get tossed into the dead ele forum where biased opinions which will “scare” away devs will come, but I would appreciate if instead I got a much broader PvP spectrum of the community (and hopefully some dev representation, please……).

Every single day…

Devs don’t actually play ele, and are just hoping another daphoenix-type player comes along and picks some magical spec out of the aether that actually allows eles to play the game like everyone else again.

Until then, enjoy watching everyone else play while you are in downed state, or go wvw with the rest of us and pick up a staff.

I feel like staff-ele could have more viability in pvp, but as long as S/X thieves can instantly teleport to your location and immob at will, they will just continue to be crapped all over. They have a decent few ways to peel, and can play the zoning game like a bomb-engie, but still wont have as much easy damage and will not be preferred. They will also never bunker like a guardian, because even if they survive as well, their utils are all VERY long CD and very selfish.

I have started a thread like this few weeks ago. Warriors get answered, necro get answered, RANGERS EVEN GOT ANSWERED IN THEIR OWN SUBFORUM. We are getting ignored, totally. Hey, I think we’re not asking for too much; a dev to come here or to the Ele forum, and talkvwith us. Really, if my boss knew I wouldn’t be doing my job….

May I know what server you guys are on so I can show you how elem are viable to spvp. Y’all just not using the right builds I know plenty of eles, that still perform in a whole diff lvl.

yup. devs dont like mesmers or eles. they all play warriors, thieves and necros. if their class has a just 1 little issue with another class, they will nerf that class to the ground while buffing theirs like crazy.
next big balance patch, mesmers get very little fixes, even though we lack a lot in group pvp. in wvw we get used as veil/portal/tw bots and support only.

eles mobility got nerfed to the ground and their survivability took a big big hit too, while the buffed warriors regen and heals soo much that kitten like this is happening in wvw atm.

and then they buffed their stuns and hello new meta.
great and anet is buffing their shouts now too. yay!

hey Darnis remember that ele we ran with Lord Earle that really amazing ele who proved that eles are fine as long as the person understands the class? We need to have him teach Fortus.6175 how to play ele.

8. Go in using a massive burst combo and leave.
9. Ride the lightning and Lightning flash are better positioning and defensive spells then offense spells
10. Know your classes limit
11. Stay out of cleave
12 When you see a downed player that is the perfect opportunity to burst because their will be tons of people trying to stomp/rez said person.

I am in all seriousness not trying to be condescending at all. Add my in game and send me a mail. Saying your characters name so i know who you are and the day you want to duel him/learn/improve. Add me Dr Professor Evil. Or kitten s.7421 kitten it my name turns into kitten. just look at my name its red and in the corner.

For some reason the numbers didnt show up , but I have 500+ games only on ele (59% of all matches), rest is mesmer and guardian. Mesmer is probably my most effective and guard I straight up suck at it, but I can guarantee I will give him a fight even with my guard. And if that wasnt enough I will even dare to challenge him with a warrior (class I have at lvl 2 and about 2 games on PvP) with a pick up build on google and I still wage I will be able to beat or take to draw.

Got frustrated by my ele also. He’s now a full-time dungeoneer and a retired PVPer.

So far, having fun with condi mesmur. I can’t play burst shatter that well. XD

And then last weekend, I rolled a cookie-cutter S/D thief just for fun. I was dominating sPVP within minutes. Like seriously.

And D<rps, I too need your help. I still want to play ele so bad, it’s just so frustrating playing an ele right now in PVP. PM me too.

Also from personal match experience and others I have faced teams that had two eles and man they were amazing… A team with any mesmers ever. Died… hard.

Lol idk why my name is filtered either. We need to get the comp back together lol. For a shatter mesmer, power necro, fresh air ele, spirit ranger and I think a pistol whip thief, we owned lol.

I really feel like the current ele needs more base hp. Like 2K more or something.

I really disagree about Eles struggling to survive. You have several escapes, several ‘shields’ and I’ve seen plenty of good Eles in PvP who can kite into water attunement and heal to full is less than no time.

Sure, I play Warrior (my first char) and I can heal easily with a lot less effort, but there’s no denying a good Ele can has great survivability.

Hell, I even seen an Ele in WvW the other day who was kiting 5 or 6 of us and constantly healing behind walls and whatever else he could find.

As for the whole “it’s obvious Warriors are payed attention to, look at their numbers” argument I feel it’s not true.
I’ve been playing my Warrior from the start without even reading up on it, I just like bulky melee classes and that I loved playing 100b in Jade Quarry in Gw1. I’m sure there are plenty more people like me.
Not everyone likes caster classes and just prefers good old brawn.

Warriors damage and survivability is great, but I don’t feel like much effort has gone into the class. Their utlities are ok but they are extremely boring. Their combat utilities are pretty poor in my opinion. Banners are decent, but until they allow us to use them on our backs I won’t ever use them for solo play. Also, we’ve been asking for that for quite some time now and it’s still not happened, so to imply that Warriors get all the attention isn’t true. Signets are good. Shouts are ok but they definitely need a buff.

Well eles being fine is not something you can just say especially when you cant back it up with any serious arguments other than random performance of people in pugs in team queu or soloq
All we know is that for the last time this game had any competition all teams decided to completely drop ele. Being viable isnt being able to make it work and playable..
Being viable is bringing soomething unique that will get you closer to victory
I personally dont know whats the benefit of having a fresh air burst ele on your teamfor direct damage.Mesm and thieves seems better choices cause first they are safer and second they actually offer more support with portal and shadw refugee
A fresh air ele has very low healing,needs to be really close to apply any boons which dont mean much at all especially with sp ranger/thief/necro around,is extremely vulnerable and its ranged sustain damage is a lot lower than mesm
Lastly pls dont present soloq players as examples of ele viability.We already know that Cmc gottop 10 soloq while playing d/d ,while streaming.Does this mean d/d is good?
Lys if im correct is a guy running super glass s/f with zero arcana..?!?I would make the wild guess that this wouldnt see competitive play in a million years.

Devs wont respond because probably they don’t agree with you. Jonathan has said that Elem is OK, it’s just the meta that counter them (many players agree with him).

When nerf bat has come to bunker elem Devs said Elem arent suposed to be better at roles than other professions (aka bunker guardian). To them ELem is a versatile profession that can do a little of everything but not excel at everything (or anything?). The next months many professions were buffed and then Elem has become this. To me just 1 profession to 1 role doesnt make much sense.

But lets be honest, since day 1 elementalist players were complaning about the profession, even when daphoenix posted his über build. Many players think of elementalist as the Mage Wizard Nuke RPG type, but in GW2 theres nothing like this, maybe just something from mesmer and 1 skill from fire staff.

Anyway, i agree with the lack of choice ragarding traits, the problem with minimun health in favor of healing that’s always being nerfed and the atrocious cooldowns of elem utilities.

I think its been a month since i listened to the thing and I still remember that.

Anyways please don’t exaggerate Ele plight. The game doesn’t need more overdone changes in response to hyperbole.

I will now stand down the ele qq train, while I still believe staff really needs help I have witnessed that scepter is not as bad as I thought.

You need to learn the different. S/F Glass Canon Ele is very good in dueling and a lot of fun in Hot Join but total worthless in TPvP. And I think this build will be very strong “when” the condi meta is nerfed. I played Ele since the beginning and now the devs forced me away from my Ele. The only viable Classes atm are easy to play and also boring to play. I played as a ranger but when I play ranger it feels like I play Farmville, it get bored really quick.

Fair point but is that supposed to be ok? Meta is what you make of it. Ele got buffed? Oh, look, meta changes. Why as a developer would you go ‘who cares, you will get your chance to shine in like a couple months’ when that just promotes hard counters in the game. A class that struggles in a certain meta should be raised up slightly in his problem area otherwise wont it just happen again sometime down the road?

Here’s my assumption on why Dev’s are replying more to Warrior threads.

They are looking at ways to balance warriors, aka nerfs. So rather than buffing under-powered profession they want to nerf powerful profession in current meta.
