Dear Devs and Players,

Recently i have been playing my Elementalist in the Top Tier PvP. I am playing the celestial dagger/dagger build with Fire Water and Arcane. I am really into Elementalist and i love playing it since the Beta. I really like the lastest patch and the new burning d/d Ele.

A great thing for example is that i can counterplay the “steal ability” of thieves with my burning and blind procs. So i actually know how to counterplay thieves and i know how to play. When a thief wants to engage me i just put down my ring of fire and when he steals on me he gets 3 stacks of burning and his steal misses since he gets blinded instantly.

The problem im facing tho is, that even tho when the thief misses his steal, i cant sustain the fight! The dps outcome of a dagger pistol thief is just way too high. Plus he can avoid any damage by just stealthing up and blinding all the time. Plus a thief is way faster then me and i barely have any escape mechanisms. I even have to equip rune of vampirism to become invulnerable for a short period of time in order to try to sustain myself!

Why cant Elementalist have a escape mechanism like stealth? The earth nr.5 dagger offhand skill, also known as churning earth, is really underpowered. It never hits in combat since my enemys always dodge it! So why doesnt that get changed into a smoke field so i can actually combo off it and stealth me and my allys? Wouldnt that be just fair?

i have to dissagree. im in favor of keeping status quo for the time being. all ele teams have started winning tournaments. even 4 ele+1 thief is acceptable to me. pvp is ok for now, we can push that thief out at a later time. Also further buffs may cause less non-eles to stomp around effortlessly. Big picture man, dont let a single death every 10-15 matches cloud your judgment. Its always nice to stomp the inferior classes, especially rangers.

Its pvp forum but im looking at the bigger picture. i want eles granted reflects and shadow refuge. pve balance is where our focus should go now. i mean we already have 2 spots in 5-man groups and 2 others in the group use the skills we provide (ice bow) in boss fights and not their own. but give us reflects and SR and we can cut them out completely, have 4x ele just like pvp. I want to keep the war though to carry banners, press switches, pull levers and talk to npcs.

Open world is swarming with eles and are most represented but has other classes running around being much less useful. But their different armors and particle effects make things prettier. Im ok with that in context of open living world, needs no balancing.

And maybe a conjure omega golem as new utility but i dont www, not a priority.

No stealth! That would prevent eles from living forever on a point. A much better solution is that anytime eles clear a condition, they should receive resistance for 10 seconds. That is only fair. No ICD of course

But like a really weak version of reveal, like not actually revealed but particle effects to give away position so an Ele’s wide array of ground targeting skills can be put to good use.

If a Thief is stabbed in the face while in stealth and doesn’t break out fire can’t do much either

Metas tend to work like this: if a build is able to survive and do what it is supposed to be doing well, it will be picked up by many people and will thrive.

When anet nerfed everything that could kill a cele DD ele quickly (mesmer, thief) they basically created an environment where the celestial ele can run around freely and do its “thing”.

But the nerf to those classes came on popular demand so actually we should not complain now.

Traits that need to become baseline asap:
- Blinding Ashes
- Cleansing Wave
- Arcane Precision
- Elemental Contingency
- Stone Heart

Then Elementalist will be balanced both in sustain and damage.

Just do it!

Fire grab should be insta cast. You saw how winning team members missed fire grabs like noobs. Skill is just too hard to use if even winning teams players can’t land it.

Take care on trolling…if it is a very bad idea Anet will certainly take it.

Stealth is rampant => PU buffed to the sky
Condies are skill less => condition buffed to madness
Burn is too strong => let’s do the berserker specialisation
Too much ele in pvp teams => let’s buff
Skyhammer is awfull => let’s force it in unranked map rotation.
