Elixer Engineer
sadly elixir engis aren’t viable anymore after the last patch. It’s now impossible to even get perma-swiftness with elixirs.
The only decent spec anymore is either support/flamethrower or hardcore bunker.
@$20 an hour! It’s worth it!

Thanks for answering, though I disagree almost completely with everything you said there.
I was asking for specific advice on these builds, not questioning if they were viable, and since you think Engis can’t get perma swiftness (mine does) I’ll just assume you couldn’t give me the info I was looking for, but thank you.

He said you can’t get perma swiftness with elixirs, which afaik is true with the recently modified boon durations.
Obviously you can still get it with kit swaps if you’re running that.
You’re on an elixir build for what role exactly?
Are you going to be roaming and do condition damage? In that case use elixir B for a bunch of buffs and swiftness, C if you’re getting targeted by conditions a lot or aren’t running 409, and S to get out of bad situations. For the runes, go undead/nightmare on armor, Sigil of Earth on the 1st pistol and Minor Corruption in the offhand, Rabid or Rampager’s amulet.
Are you going to roam and do direct damage? Then use B, U (for swiftness and a random wall on the ground which you can use to combo with) and S. Sigil of Air on your Rifle, runes of Divinity, or Eagle, or Ogre on your armor. Berserker’s amulet or Knight’s Amulet for a less squishy version.
Are you going to be team support? Then go for Elixir Gun, F and S. You can use the area heal of the elixir gun as a combo field to create Mass Retaliation (which is great in team fights) and you can trigger it with your shield 4 ability. Elixir F to get yourself or your allies up when they’re downed, and you can throw S to give stability or stealth to help stomping enemies. You might want to go either runes of Earth or Dolyak for your armor, Sigil of Water (I think) on your pistol, the stun duration sigil on your shield (forgot the name). Either Soldier’s or Cleric’s amulet.
In any case, Elixir H will be your heal of choice. Throwing it is gonna give your allies a random buff, which is always helpful.
That’s how I’d go with elixir builds and I hope this is the info you wanted to read.
I don’t think anyone understood what I was asking in my original topic so I’ll just let this one go I guess, maybe I didn’t communicate it clearly.
I just wanted rune/amulet/gem suggestions based on heal vs. toughness viability, and truthfully, though testing this I sort of got my answer finally anyway.
And yes, I know you can’t get perma-swift from “just” elixirs alone, but I wasn’t asking about that. I mentioned the elixer gun, and I run speedy kits with an elixer gun, so I get perma swiftness whenever I roam, so I didn’t get what the point of telling me an elixer build wasn’t viable and then using lack of perma-swiftness as a reason for it, especially when that wasn’t part of the topic.

Thanks, I’ve been doing lots of the things you mentioned, and right now I’ve settled on the Sigil of Earth. I went with Shaman’s amulet over Cleric since I found as a bunkerish spec, people focus on trying to CC you (if they are good) and I get more benefit from stacking toughness than I do getting an extra “x” amount in each heal, but I do have enough heal power through the Shaman amulet and gem to still give me enough to make do with.
I haven’t tested it myself, but I think that the general consensus is that healing power is usually not worth it, because even tons of healing power will make just a slight difference.
Might as well invest in toughness/vitality if you’re bunkering, that means Soldier’s Amulet (with a Cleric’s Gem if you wanna add a touch of healing) or Shaman’s with Carrion gem if you’re going to do some condition damage while bunkering.
This is based on personal experience and might very well be wrong, so if any expert on the subject of “healing power” wants to chime in, feel free.
