Warning, shameless copy/paste from the engineer subforum, but since it also concerns warriors, I’ll post it my fun little demonstration here.Let’s look at some numbers boys:

On my left, a Rampage warrior with Peak Performance.
On my right, an engineer with HGH and Elixir X.

On the warrior, the Rampage has a reduced CD of 144s, and the Rampage lasts for 15s.
On the engineer, the Elixir X has a reduced CD of 84s. Statistically, that’s a Rampage every 168s (engineers get Tornado half the time). HGH increases the duration of the effects of the elixirs, so our Rampage lasts for 15*1.2 = 18s

On both skills, the cool down starts when the transformation begins, which will yield the following calculation:

The warrior has a total Rampage uptime of 15/144 = 10.42%, while the engineer has a total Rampage uptime of 18/168 = 10.71%.

In addition to this glorious victory, Elixir X gives a very situational, but sometimes useful Tornado every 168s, and an AoE moa, while the warrior only has his eyes to cry with. Conclusion: Elixir X > Rampage.

You forgot Warrior Rampage does more damage with a full adrenaline bar (30% more)

And there are situations where Tornado is really useless so it’s better to believe in a not RNG skill.

Yeah, queue the gambling Engineer 2c:

@OP, Don’t forget to budget the power of having full control, RNG carries risk, and risk requires a higher payout for the same return. There’s also the punishment of Tornado over being regular Engineer. Rolling Tornado very often costs precious seconds & pressure at a clutch moment (down cleave).

Factor in peak performance being a beast trait, and natural Rampage synergy with pre-casting Berserker stance, Rampage still > Elixir X.

The gap between Rampage and Elixir X has been further reduced though, as of this patch, no doubt.

Nah. Because slick shoes is nerfed to the point where you have to go settlers to be viable, I don’t believe Engi, more-so even if they get rampage, completely over-shadows most classes anymore. Warrior can actually do the same job Engi does, the difference is Warrior has a harder time landing damage but can be more rewarding, definitely has better “all-in,” and saves a point better. Both survivability are on par, Warrior having better counter-pressure while Engi having better uptime.

Engi has better range and strong damage but they can’t really save caps and or attack while having some sort of burst mitigation. Mesmer still has an edge on both because distortion is just flat-out broken.

Eh, idk, I still prefer mortar over X and if I had my choice between warrior’s traited Rampage and X, it’d be a tough choice for me.

From a pure numbers standpoint, X looks great, but the RNG aspect of X means that you can’t make reliable strategies, which is something that is very valuable, even if not quantifiable.

Hmm. The only reason I would put elixir X over rampage is essentially I could knock you out of rampage with moa morph than 50% of the time rampage all over you. When I works it is a good counter when you have tornado you break even.

Honestly for me elixir X is for the moa morph. It counters quite a a few things but, isn’t strong enough or long enough to moa and then 2 shot. You actually have to be on the look out for things worth countering.

plus engineer doesn’t have peak performance so it’s rampage isn’t so scary.

Its actually even more scary if you use it after you get a ton of might stacks from hgh getting 6k crits very often and using elixer U right before i activate elixer X grants me almost 10 sec of quickness to destroy people

i once got tornado 12 times in a row, the only reason elixir X is better then rampage is becasue of the aoe moa, which destroys so many things
