Q:
End game content?
There is none. If your looking for end game content, Guild Wars 2 isn’t for you.
I don’t agree completely. If you like PvE there are several dungeons to rerun for get the equipment. While I agree only one is high-level (Arah) it’s still useful run the others since the equipment is good in any case.
If you like PvP there are tournaments (tPvP) and skirmish battles (sPvP), a rank system (while I agree it’s too simplified) just like any other game.
WoW seems bigger but it’s not, I played until Wrath of The Lich King (so I can’t tell for the other expansions but I’m pretty sure it’s not changed much) and the only useful instance was Icecrown Citadel, the others were just ignored. So what’s the point to have 30 raids while you run only in one of them?
I prever Guild Wars 2 style, every dungeon is useful.
I agree they are few but there are 5 different paths for each of them (except Caudecus Manor and Ascalon Catacombs which have 4 paths, for everyone there is the story mode and the rest exploration mode).
There is an endgame: it’s simply shorter to reach and you have to find what do you like most.
I’m trying to explore everything: I completed any PvE area, I miss only few WvW parts.
in full pve mode the endgame is always the same of every mmoprg: dungeons, legendary armors, craft, pve titles.
in pvpve endgame is owning the wvwvw, gathering materials for “dedicated” armors, leading the server “ladder”.
in tpvp endgame is being slowly implemented by ladder, or farming max rank, max titles.
if all this is not enough, i don’t know what a mmorpg can give more.
Does anyone know if they have 3v3 ladders on the rise?
5v5 at the moment is planned.
Another question…
I’ve tried all the classes and there seem to be only 5 attack abilities and 5 ‘utility’ abilities. Is that it? I know you can swap weapons but I feel like I am not playing to reach any goal…I already leveled these 5 abilities and the next carrot is another utility ability ages from now…Am I the only one who feels like it gets dull to spam these abilities again and again? And we must admit that WvWvW requires no skill from the individual player as you just zerg around and spam buttons…
I mean, I feel like I can just create any character level 1 and then go zerg in pvp with my 5 abilities…Does this change, or?
yes you get a lot better at the game (in theory) the more you play and alter your builds to make those 10 skills better/more useful
when you level youll get traits and soon realize in wvw its also about your gear and builds you create based on stats from your gear runes and gems in that gear traits and weapons all combined to work with your parties interests.
