Of course knowing anet will never change the current mmr setup or balance for the rest of this season. What do you guys think the state of PVP will be after this season?

Will things finally balance out? or will things continually spiral out of control? Will this be the season of un-fun?

This is the season of complete randomness. PVPing is now a form of gambling, wagering pips to see if you get the good team or the afk team lol. May RNGesus be with us all.

If they don’t relinquish their policy of not making changes to the league midseason people won’t even be back next season to see if anything has improved.

The only way this will even out is because all the new players who got pumped up for Season 2 Ranked have left after being decimated repeatedly in un-balanced matches.

Then all the average players who were effectively kitten by the system and by the fact that they were playing with these new players (who were automatically awarded average MMR) will be able to play with and against eachother. Of course, that is, if they haven’t left too.

Queue times for better players will go up, because a lot of those average/above average players are sitting on lower MMR than they should due to multiple unavoidable losses so the system will think the pool of better players is smaller than it is and take longer to find matches.

Ultimately there will be a population decrease and less interest in watching the Elites because the audience – the average player, doesn’t like to be so obviously treated as second class.

So the Higher MMR players will have their wish – they will have done less work to climb the league than last season. The average player PVP population base will drop. Sky won’t fall, game will go on – but it will have seriously shot itself in the foot.

If things keep going the way they are, I think the PvP population and people taking up PvP will decrease. No one wants to be stomped all day everyday. And the people winning crazy amount of games in a row are not going to complain. They are winning, and probably with out really trying. I’ve had a total of 3 really fun games, 2 I won, the other was a loss, but the team was just really good players. Games like that I don’t mind losing, my team tried, we all did. We gave as good as we got, but they where just better.

Now the problem is not every game is like that. Most losses are because people do there own thing or don’t communicate with the team.

ANet wants everyone to play in teams with voice coms. They want ESports.

Not only that, but have you guys noticed the recent surge of hackers??? That’s says a lot, because the system is absurdly unfair, people will resort to hacks to move up the ladder. This season is total mess, but it won’t stop me from playing since spvp is all do. What I am worried about are my friends (the pvers); some of them have yet to win a game, which is juts sad.

Hm. I’ve been having a great time. Lots of wins, several good games, and a few hard fought losses. Better than last season, for sure. But, I enjoyed that as well…

Frustration is about the best soloQing has to offer, typically unbalanced on one side with the occasional close match game.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Anet seriously should wake up and finally admit the changes in the matchmaking system made it much worse then last season.

One thing I don’t understand is, why the heck the best players need any assistance in the face of constant win streaks to climb faster the divisions. They are good players, right? Aren’t they supposed to earn it, instead of being carried by the system?

As it is there is nothing competitive in the league now. Every game is a gap of 300 or more points. You either hit a constant win streak or a constant lose streak. Its not fun for anyone.

IMO it’s pretty clear that they’re trying some kind of goldilocks balancing strategy. Last season’s porridge was too cold, this season’s porridge is too hot, next season’s porridge will hopefully be just right.

It’s to get them out of the low leagues as fast as possible so people who are in those low leagues because of their skill level aren’t matched so frequently against high-skill players that are grinding their way back up.

ANET is now catering to the people who loathe majority of the playerbase.

Bowling leagues have handicaps, Football leagues have qualifying rounds, ANET Esportz has stupidity.
