Engi day.......Again?
There are 10 more between now and the 9th of April
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Daily/Table
Something is really wrong with the dailys. I mean we all hate them but if they are included make them fair.
I guess is plain random and 1/8 is a chance ^^
Can’t complain btw XD
Wat r u, casul?
So, having Thief daily most of the time is fine, but engi not?
Did I stomp in another:
- But Turret Engineer…… >_<
thread?
But it’s not random.

Wat r u, casul?
ANet’s daily class algorithm has a pretty sick sense of humor. How many Engi days have we had in the past week? Fo’real……
It’s not just Engi, even tho it certainly feels like Guard/Engi is there every other day.
If i counted right, durin the next month therell be:
Guard 11
Engi 10
Thief 9
Ele 9
Warrior 7
Ranger 5
Mesmer 4
Necro 3
maybe it’s just their favourite classes? :P

I’m not sure if you are making fun of me or you are genuinely surprised but dailies are predetermined.
(edited by rotten.9753)
Funny thing is that necro is engi’s counter…just make engi/necro daily then
Funny how we’ve had 7 engi dailies, 6 thief dailies, and 0 mesmer dailies in the past two weeks. Anet kittening make your system balanced. It should be set to have one of each over the four days.

I like how every other day, someone makes a new thread about the very same thing. And in every single one of those threads, at least one person will think it’s random.
There must be at least 5 threads about this by now. Possibly more. And that’s just the PvP-subforum.
Engi: least played class in gw2 if you consider all aspects of the game.
Anet: well let’s buff the crap out of them, nerf other classes and put them on daily every second day to improve statistics.
Anet doesn’t realize one thing: engis are not popular because they are thematically boring and they look like crap. Would they have so cool looking spells, epic turrets with lazors (asura cannons look cool for example), awesome looking backpack and not that hobo sack and actually had high burst/sustain in pve for speed runs, more people would play them.
Buffing them to the point where it is just play engi or don’t play game will just cause players that don’t want to switch quit the game/migrate to other games….
Look at thieves: i am sure that despite all nerfs that been handled out in almost EVERY SINGLE PATCH so far a lot of people still play them. Why? I think of 2 reasons:
- Assassine/ninja/killer/hitman and co. games (there are countless Ezios in gw2 lol)
- high risk/fps like gameplay
- maybe not sparkly spells but they often involve cool acrobatic movements, sound effects and are just stylish …
bottom line this game is a RPG = role playing game…. not many want to play some nerdy guy with tools looking like rusty tin cans…
@Anet: stop buffing engis, make them visually/thematically appealing :|

That’s your opinion. Maybe their looks the reason you don’t see many engi, or also because leveling on an engi when you have no experience with the game is difficult. I personally like it and so do many others.
Now, you have to realize that engi actually received very little buffs in the past year. I only remember Slick Shoes (half the engineer still use Elixir S) and shield #4. IP was even nerfed. It has always be strong. In fact before the cele meta, I played a condi engi and often wondered why there were so few of them, since it was already strong. Celestial engineer is now extremely strong for a series of reasons:
1) You don’t see many necromancers
2) Hambow is dead (main reason imo)
3) Warriors are rare and don’t run stability anymore
4) Staff guardian with Stand Your Ground are now rare
Engi was not buffed: the meta shifted to less stability, less hammer warriors and less condition necromancers, and therefore they thrive.
and actually had high burst/sustain in pve for speed runs
Actually, according to DnT, Engi is on place 3 in terms of DPS right after Elementalist and Thief, and can also bring a lot of utility to the party (might stacking, vulnerability, stealth, reflects, etc). Problem there is more, that it’s apparently also quite hard to actually get to that DPS; according to Brazil it has the highest skill cap of all classes in that regard.

well yeah that basically.. compare that to warrior… you get the idea

you forgot turrets buffs
you forgot celestial buffs
and yes nerfs to other classes usually result in indirect buffs to engis

how were engineers buffed?
other than PvP Engineers are mediocre compared to other Specially in wvw
you forgot turrets buffs
you forgot celestial buffs

You can’t possibly say that turret buffs made engi meta! You don’t loose to turret engis do you? Cause that’s another issue. Accelerant Packed Turret was even nerfed, and that’s the only turret trait that the meta cele build uses.
Celestial Amulet was buffed a long time ago, but engineers sticked to rabid until very recently. At the time, the profession that benefitted from that buff a lot was warrior, with the eviscerate build. Engineer, apart from bomb and HGH builds has limited access to might, that’s why celestial wasn’t really in use. Celestial buffs can’t alone explain the success of the rifle engineer: try to run a condi engineer, you’ll wreck every rifle engineer you see.
Everything changed with the warrior nerf, true. Rifle was now a viable weapon, since warriors had no more stab and bunker guards were chased off the meta by cele elementalists.
Engineer was not buffed. Guardian was not nerfed. The meta just shifted from stab-providing bunkers to hybrid squirmishers. Engineer is better now because the role it fits is more appropriate in the new way we play the game. That’s all. GW2 is not a 1v1 game, the most popular builds are not always crazily OP: they just need to fit the play style.
@Sorel.4970 – You don’t loose to turret engis do you?
I do.
On daily days there are usually 2 in enemy team. They dont hesitate to crate 1vs1 like insta.
No, they don’t stick to close. They come and cc entire teamfight, no timing needed. And shoutbow heals those aa bags of happiness. I prefer to fight pain train then one turret engi.
So yeah, turrets are fine. I wonder what some really top players think about the build, whether it should exist in it’s form. Ofc my comment was about how op shoutbow is, yes
Why celestial on engi? your knowledge is astonishing – outheal gusy n 3.8k pry bar cuz intelligence
Yeah I don’t really play the game any longer – whaddya think I am doing on forums?
REMOVE THIS DAILY BULL SYSTEM
NOW, not after 9 april or whenever..
Why removing it ? Thanks to the daily, I discovered rank farm and now have a new activity to spend my free time on.
I like how every other day, someone makes a new thread about the very same thing.
It shows you that people don’t like it, doesn’kitten
The thing that concerns me is how slow they are to respond to these ideas. We had a permanent Skyhammer thread on page 1 for the longest time, maybe we should do that with dailies.
The Warrior turns to the guardian and says, “Did you hear something?”
Guardian replies, “No, but how’d the elementalist die?”
