Guild Wars 2

Hello there, I’m Dragonic Elemental. I’ve been running a certain build lately and I would like some help with my equipment and set-up beyond the core of the build.
The build revolves mostly around swapping attunements:

With this build, I get a lot of boons and survivability, especially against condition bursts, while doing enough damage to defeat most players if playing correctly due to fury.
I definitely want Air 1, Earth 8 and 11 and Arcana 2 and 8.

I would like feedback on:
-The water trait; I chose it because i couldn’t find any other trait I thought was worth it
-The first trait in Earth; again, are there better options?
-Sigils & my last two runes
-my 8th and 9th skill; I don’t use utility slot 3 that often, but earth shield can be good to control multiple people. firesignet is just for added crit chance, I never activate it.

Edit: I want this trait set-up mostly because I like playing with it, not because it is the best. However, I want to maximize the effectiveness of the parts that I don’t necessarily knew what to do with (listed above)

I prefer Earth V to Earth III with double daggers because you have 3 sources of auras.
10 Water is pretty pointless if you don’t have cantrips. Either go 15 for the heal or 20 for the condition removal. Water V is only good paired with Water XI.
Signet of Air passive is useless in your build because you already can have perma swiftness. And I don’t think it’s worth it just for the blind if you don’t need the passive runspeed. Earthshield works better in condition builds IMHO because of the heavy bleeding.

Also you have extremely low health and healing power. Which makes Diamond Skin even worse that it already is.

So might it be better to get rid of diamond skin in favor of 20 in water with cleansing wave? Also, swapping out signet of air seems like a good idea that I’m certainly going to do

Honestly just one of the builds listed in the pvp sticky here. Eles don’t have any build diversity and diamond skin is extremly bad of a grandmaster trait.

Oh well, It didn’t exactly say BUILDS :P I’m not really new to PvP, but I’ve only ever played for a little fun, not very competitively

30 in earth is bad. Diamond skin is only good against pure condi builds. Which hardly anyone plays anymore. Probably should go Divinity Runes. You probably wont even notice the +boon duration you have now.

this is something I messed around with as D/D. you could change one cantrip to lightning flash to better land earth#5. But cantrips are an eles life line

Amulet depends on whether you want a DPS or bunker build. And yes, it’s only cantrips. Arcane skills can be good in burst builds but most ele Utility skills are garbage.

This guys is right. You should take a couple amulets with you and base your choice off of the other teams comp.

How do you fare with celestial amulet? 1400 power with only 550 condition damage seems dangerously low to me.

Like Blackhat said Pick your amulet depending on the role you want to play. I personally like Soldier with cleric gem for bunkering or Barbarians for dps

Okay, probably should have mentioned this clearly, but I KNOW what the meta builds are, and that this isn’t the best kind of build in its own right, but I like using it, as it is a lot of fun. So I won’t make major changes. Only would like some feedback on gear

Also, I’ve tested with and without diamond skin, and find myself dying often to condi builds without it, and not dying with it.
