.. Please nerf everything. Good god. With so many qq nerf threads on this forum, you might as well do it. I really hope anet doesn’t base their class balancing off the vocal minority, else PvP will really become kitten.

I’m still confused how people struggle against DH. I hope they don’t nerf DH out of the meta since they are usually easy kills.

I also love these threads called " xxx needs balancing" where the OP does not even come up with a single suggestion. Balancing what?

There might actually be more truth in your topic title than you intended. There are a bunch of things that are overpowered, mainly HoT things, which cause general vanilla traits/weapons/utilities to be underperforming. If they nerf everything it might actually result in some good balance and more build diversity. Theoretically then :P

Actually, everything that was introduced with HoT aka elite specs, are overpowered in comparison to core and since 99% of players run elite specs in pvp, it is pretty much safe to say that everything IS overpower.
Anet really needs to nerf elite specs to the point that core specs can compete with them. Elite specs were meant as alternative (devs words) not as straight upgrade.

That is different discussion that, i am pretty sure, is not allowed here.

All HOT specs need the following nerfs

All passive traits duration reduced by 20% and cd increased 20%
All boon durations (obtained via Elite spec) reduced 20%, CD increased 20%
All Condition durations reduced 20%, CD increased 20%
All Damage modifiers (condi and power on all trait lines) reduced by 50% (so if damage modifier is +10% it should be +5%)

Start there and see how It shakes out.

Alternatives can sell, it just takes substantially more work to do so. It would necessitate that the elite specs bring an entirely new playstyle to each class that is just as good as their core playstyles. Druid takes ranger into uber support role. That is a spec that could sell as an alternate playstyle instead of being sold off of being overpowered. Chrono could have been just about turning mesmer into the ultimate offensive support through a monopoly on quickness uptime and alacrity. Its possible to do this, it just takes far more work than just making the elite specs better in every way over the core specs.

@Spartacus – Such blanket nerfs are rarely a good idea. A class that relies on a lot of %dmg modifiers is hurt exponentially more than a class with few of those modifiers but more +stat modifiers for example. Similarly a class with few passives is hurt far more than a class with a lot of passive.

accept that elite is better then core. Core is still playable and good to learn. I can PvE and go WvW with core and win and i can fight PvP in broze or silver without to much disadvantage. As long as elite specs are alternatives this will work. The realy bad stuff would be if newer elites powercreep more. Elite specs should be alternatives on the same level but deserve the wording elite. Base is F2P.

I understand but it generally accepted that passives are over the top and condi was over buffed. Most of the buffs coming from elite specs. Blanket across the board nerfs may not be the best way but no one can really argue that we do need to reverse all the power creep we had since HOT release.

Saying nothing is unbalanced is just as dumb as complaining about everything. Lets just roll a game out there and make a bunch of additions over time and just leave everything as it is never changing anything prior. Brilliant!
