I don’t SPvP anymore, when it does nothing to progress my actual character.

So, will a feature like this ever be added? I know it was mentioned a while ago that Jonathan Sharp spoke a while ago about adding some sort of PvE reward incentive in a “state of the game talk”, but has that incentive ever been clarified since?

Honestly, the only reason I don’t SPvP is because it does not influence the real part of the game at all. And yes, I’m calling the PvE/WvW part of the game the “real” part, because content wise it does comprise more than 90% of the game.

Couldn’t agree any more with the topic.
PvP giving nothing to player but a horribly slow progressive rank that stands for nothing is what drives the bulk of the crowd away.

I really think one should be able to exchange his glory for Karma and Gold or atleast boosts (xp,karma,glory lol ).

Although i do think that the exchange rates should not be so stellar as the main purpose is having fun and kicking some butt, not farming.

Getting gold in exchange for glory would completely mess up the economy, but level progression sounds reasonable for the people who spend all their time in the Mists.

The “incentive” most people have is to be #1/to beat the best teams, but yes I agree, there should be some sort progression in PvE, or something other than cosmetic rewards in PvP.

How would it mess up the economy ? The exchange rate would be low and should contain some kind of deminising return format.

It would add a lot of gold to the game. Exchanging it for exp is an interesting idea, but this isn’t the type of game where you have to grind levels very much. Karma is a nice idea.

What about boosts? (karma,xp,armor,hp regen, all the unused ones)
Would still make you get involved in those activitys.

Aye, obviously it’s up to the developers to determine what we can and can’t exchange glory for. Really though, there needs to be SOMETHING before my guild gets into SPvPing. Until then, we’ll just stick with WvW :/

I would prefer it be used for gol or at the very least allow us to use glory to convert to gems so I can buy stuff in there using glory instead of having to get gold all the time….

lol, trading glory for gems just isn’t going to happen.

^ yeah he’s 100% right. Next people will ask for the option to trade gems for real life money lol >_<’’ just kidding.

Wont the boosters serve as wonderful rewards? Imagine, A booster costing like 1000 – 2000 points ranging from the weaker ones ( Hp regen, armor, kill spree) to the better ones ( increased karma, xp) .

I got 360k Glory with nothing to buy….

Exactly, this is the reason why I’ll be staying away from SPvP and spending my time elsewhere were I can get both fun and rewards, like WvW.
